Sorry for just writing a random message but wouldn't it be possible to make an 8k map by making the height map res 8192 px? I made some testing and didn't run into any problems. maybe you could add a 8k version of your template map.
The assets in the asset browser? Did it just stop loading suddenly? Could you send screenshots of the console? Might be something useful there --- Post updated --- I don't know, I guess you could try that. Another way would be to use a 4k height map and setting the meter per pixels lower so it makes an 8k terrain, but then painting will be less accurate.
after setting up my map, everything is there except for the ground/terrain itself. I havent removed any files. How can i fix it?? When you spawn in you just fall forever
Could you tell more about what you did? By after setting up your map do you mean that getting it ready for publication?
So it's the same when not zipped? Could you send a picture of the console? Maybe there's something there --- Post updated --- Hmm, could you send an image on discord or maybe email then? You could try deep clearing cache. Did you do something on the map and it stopped loading, or did it just start happening on its own?
okay, i found the problem, if you changed the name on the mod and levels folder the same way as when you set it up, the terrain dissapears. Why, idk, but thats why
I have this same problem even though I followed the guide. Tried several times but no luck. Relocating the folders don't help either and the loading screen shows no progress is made.
you can go to the level objects In the scene tree, then you go to vegetation and there you need to find your grass type (just hide the groundcover files with the eye) and click on the groundcover you want to change. in the inspector change the options so you're satisfied with the result (there you will also find the groundcover density).
Hmm, everything should work if you do it correctly. If you want I can change the names for you --- Post updated --- Search for groundcover in the scene tree. Then you can change the grass for each material in the inspector.

You'd have to make the map smaller. Same size with more detail is (as far as I know) not possible. You could just make the rough edges at eg. streets a bit smoother with some decals.
The bigger the map, the less detail it has. 2k km would have more detail than 4k. Use decal roads to hide the blockiness. I guess you could use an 8k heightmap and set the pixels per meter to 2, then you'd get a 4096x4096m map with higher detail, but the big heightmap could maybe cause some problems, not sure.
