Little vent, but I think it fits here Modern American school is a fucking joke. No one pays attention, all the "popular" "cool" people are trying to one up each other on looking sped and making the most obnoxious noises. They steal supplies, brush off any teacher, administrator, and even police officers. The worst part is teachers cant do anything about it since parents think their special little snowflake of a child cant do any harm. seriously, I'm in 11th grade right now (ALGEBRA 2 class as of writing this) and the people in here act like 3rd graders. They don't face consequences because parents will explode at the school, so the school is afraid to discipline. I personally think its a lack of parenting skills, modern parents just let their kids scroll on their iPads and computers endlessly. I think it shows them the lack of accountability seen online and they apply it to real life and here we are. currently like 4 of the broccoli hair people are moaning as loud as they possibly can with a substitute teacher because they know the sub cant say anything without their parents blowing up at the teacher/administrator. And the worst part is THEY KNOW THERE BEING DUMB. They just don't care. I hate school. not because of the content, but because of the people.
ours isn't too bad to my knowledge what I can't comprehend no matter how hard I try is these are 16, 17 and even 18 year olds. ADULTS. and they act like children. they think being a lazy parasite is cool and if you actually try to do decent work they laugh at you. its absurd that respect in this generation is based on how much bullshit you can get away with. AND ALSO they abuse school property. school Chromebooks? how close can I get to killing it before I do, and can I do this or that to be obnoxious with it? Its like they're always looking for their next big hit of dopamine from doing the most retarded shit I've ever seen
Oh yeah, that's part of why I left the public school system. My classmates were so annoying and insufferable that they caused multiple substitutes to just quit. (I mean, the other part of me leaving was because I was bullied every day and had no friends, but that's unrelated to the topic)
Here in secondary UK in my year, we have about 10 or more students on weed or cocaine, parties which involve kissing and getting drunk and a general lack of disrespect to some teachers. Up until year 10 all of the popular kids didn't really care about getting work done but now they realise they need to actually work or else they are cooked for GCSEs with a few exceptions. Some are nice but still carry one of the traits I mentioned. Some other things in my year: Broccoli hair has mostly died with the only few curls being natural. The trend has been taken over by curtains People have gotten bored of vaping and quit Fights barely happen, at the very most once every full term Popular kids now use brainrot slang but heavens forbid a measly peasant says one term
Weed is popular (although to be honest I don't see it as that bad), one of my friends has apparently tried Cocaine, although this was in a safe environment at least. They have had to make programs for kids who just don't do anything but vape in the toilets here, where they are basically just taught the basics of everything and how to survive. Vaping is continuously getting worse, with kids younger and younger getting caught with them. Children as young as seven are being suspended for vaping. Crazy fucking world we live in... Fights used to be pretty common, but they then banned phones and somehow that actually reduced fighting to almost no fighting.
