I'm more so baffled as to why the props have been given so much focus this update, and I feel like playing the update (or at least, being shown it) would give me a better idea. I've given some of my guesses here in my previous posts, but I don't actually know. It could be that the next refresh (or pair of refreshes) is taking longer than expected, so these props are filler. Or perhaps they've hired a bunch more people. Honestly, I'm happy that the props have been given focus officially - there's been shockingly few mod props released recently. There've been more vehicles released to the repo in the past year (32) than there have been props (21), and most of those props have been very simple and small. That's including the reskinned porta-potty. So, getting some new (or remastered) props to mess with will probably encourage more people to make their own props. There's one big issue with raising prices for Beam. It doesn't matter how much work the devs put into the product (to a point - the fairly consistent quality is why playercounts have gone up over the years). It's not finished yet. People will happily pay more money for a finished product, but based on my experiences with people in the Derail Valley community, once you start asking more than $30 for an EA game, people will be looking out for the next sale. As one person on the DV Steam forums said... ...which is a completely understandable mindset to have. You also have to consider that the game typically requires more expensive hardware to be enjoyed properly (I spent ~$1,000 on my current PC two years ago to be able to play Beam at more than 15 FPS with multiple cars on medium graphics, and that was with a free PSU). (Yes, you can run it on cheaper hardware - I played it on a $100 PC for a couple years before getting my current one - but it won't be to the same standards as running AC or Snowrunner on consoles.) Having to spend all that money on a PC and then being charged more for a game than something that can be played on a console wouldn't be very appealing. We've only had one Thursday release post-0.27, and the last Monday release was 0.26. It's also past 14:00 UTC. It's most likely that we'll be getting the update next Tuesday or Wednesday.
I’d say next week is most likely at this point. There have been friday updates in the past but it’s rare
There hasn't been a major update on Friday in the past six years since 0.17 - we're very unlikely to get one this time.
I'm asking because I don't exactly know? Now that you say this I can think of 9/11 but here in Spain we have a festivity for example. I'm genuinely curious that's all
