version 0.3.7.X - feedback thread

    Same here, I prefer the old tire model, but I'm willing to wait to see how they improve the new one.

    Everybody's talking about the Sunburst, but to be honest, is just another car. Cool vehicle, yeah, but I think there are more important issues like the 30 FPS drop from the previous version.

    Do you get FPS drop also on map like puregrid/gridmap?
    Have you checked if your graphical settings didn't change with the last update (PostFX, etc)

    Thanks! that helped, SSAO was turned on, killing the performance. I've never bothered with the PostFX panel, so it was off as default. Now it's 50-60 fps as it should be :)

    You may want to put on a warning for everyone when the updates come out to check their graphics settings.

    I'd imagine most people will do much better with performance if they just check that.

    I haven't noticed a dip in FPS, but that's because my settings didn't really change! :p

    Yes, my gripe is with the skidmarks ONLY. There are anomalies in my opinion on the actual tire physics but as you said it's a WIP and I appreciate you guys
    getting into that. I play Beamng exclusively with all sounds OFF 100% of the time.

    Whatever was implemented or changed in 0.7.5/6 was drastic. I thought 0.7.3 was awesome, great visuals, maps worked, skidmarks occurred at 30 mph and the
    vehicle handling ( yes the Hirochi ), was REALLY nice. I haven't commented on the new cubemaps but I think they are TOO good. Yeah...that's right!...........
    I SAID TOO GOOD. Vehicles now look like big polished Jolly Ranchers with wheels and artifact when smashed up real good (shadows). Pic soon.
    Discount this feedback as ignorant or whatever but it is what it is.

    Well my feedback was coming from my own ignorance too, but how could I tell there was some postfx options on while I never messed with that before? (SSAO off, HDR off, and other crap off). Next time, a warning would be good, yeah.

    BTW I have an issue. Somehow I always get the engine stalled and there is no button to restart it as far as I'm aware, except for reseting the car. I just drive into mud with the gear set to N and it stalls, but sometimes it stalls for seemingly no reason without mud being involed. I imagine mud counts as water, but if it only covers the wheels, it really shouldn't stall the engine.
    So... Any solutions?

    When you change something in the editor and you hit Esc to change level or vehicle the "level has been modified in editor save?" comes up then you got to hit cancel to change vehicle or level so i was thinking if you could move it asking you that to when you hit quit in the new menu instead of when you hit Esc so it wont get in your way when you want to change something:)

    I found out that, when hit with high speeds, barrels tend to grow and ''eat'' your car. Most of the time the game crashes when the barrel totally obliterates your car. I don't know if this is fixable or not by adjusting the jbeam, But I guess I'll just post it here.

    Instead of having the industrial and port as two different maps, why not collaborate them so the industrial site is next to the port in the same map? I'm sure it would be nice :)

    A bad performance even by disabling all graphics options.. difficult to play beamng now :(

    Remember to disable PostFX - Press control-O to open up the dialog and disable all PostFX. The update didn't change much of anything graphically but the users settings got messed up.

    I should really make a video but if i catch a corner of an object with the sunburst it causes my screen to go white and have to close the game. I can still access the menu but every level i load is all white no textures untill I restart. Happens when the car is going at least 60 mph i think.

    I was using the Sunburst on East Coast and I lost a wheel and the wheel decided to do this:


    It is very peculiar, probably something to do with the new tires.

    When the tires are pushing the borderline of physics instability, the nodes jiggle and it excites the tire like that. Not intended obviously but basically a matter of more tuning.

    So after the 0.3.7.6 update, using the parts config removes all the ui apps along with the speedo etc. I can still play the game but i esc doesn´t work, so i have to use ctrl+alt+delete to exit the game. Parts config worked with the 0.3.7.4 update. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

    Not experiencing that issue here.

    I did in 0.3.7.4 though, issue was me hitting escape to close the parts config instead of clicking the main menu button at the top. If you reopen parts config then click main menu, UI all returns to normal.
