Hello everyone. So I've started to fiddle around with stuff you can do in BeamNG. Creating time trials. Tuning cars etc. Is there a way to get detailed information about car parts? Like engine, turbos, tires? What is the 'grip' of a tire on what surface? Engine horse power, etc. Suspension stiffness, etc. Drive shaft thougness. Do these values even exist? Could I write a MOD, like a parts browser, which shows part specific configuration/information? Thanks a lot!
Some of these can be found on the performance tab on the vehicle selector once u have cosen the variant of the car
Thank you, yes I know. Still a lot is missing. I mean ... right now I could slap on racing slicks on a Trophy Truck and "expect" it to drive the same way as before, because I don't know their configuration. Apart from the name of the tires I don't know what they are good or bad for. Engine with bigger L-numbers indicate they are more powerfull, yes, but I don't see the actual number, or I'm missing something.
For the engine, you can use the torque curve ui app to see the horsepower. For most other parts, you can't see them in game, but they're fairly easily accessible in the game files, i imagine making an ui app that show values such as suspension stiffness or drive shaft toughness wouldn't be too hard. Tires are hard though, because there are a lot of values that aren't just "grip"
Thank you everyone. Yeah I've seen a post which suggests that they're working on huge tire rework. Guess I'll wait until the next update
