So I noticed that ever since the 0.24 remaster, the lights (especially the front and rear indicators) have black bits around the lit parts when lit, which I don't think is a thing on any other car. I didn't think too much about it until the release of the Lansdale, which is from around the same era (pre-facelift-wise) and has the same type of lights.

A look into the materials JSON file reveals that both of the lights' lit materials don't use the same base colour or roughness maps as the unlit material. Fixing that (and converting them to v1.5) gets rid of the black parts and yields... okay results, though the reverse lights are too bright, the indicators' colour is washed out, and the tail/brake/CHMSL bulbs are too prominent.

Seems like fixing this issue properly may need a complete rebake and rewrite of the light glow textures (and probably the glass too), à la the older Pessima.

Here's the JSON if you want to tinker with it yourself (just add a period between "main" and "materials", and plop it into your vehicles/midsize folder):

Idk if it's representative of the real Honda Accord super touring car, but the power drop off after 8000rpm seems too steep for what should be a proper race engine

Despite there being listed three different fender flares, they are all identical.

Literally unplayable typo with the front halfshafts option, this is only for the race suspension (normal suspension is fine).
Apologies in advance if this has been posted before.

Random, and likely not productive, but I see potential for this platform to be turned into a wagon with almost "Subie-like" configs. I've never thought about the Pessima like this before, but a fun late 90s crossover/wagon would be neat.

So, after witnessing the amount of content the Burnside and Miramar got for their refreshes (which, while not as much as they could've gotten, was still a decent amount), I'm a bit confused why this car got so little new content in its full remaster. Usually, for refreshes/remasters, vehicles get:

-New bodies/frames (Miramar, Burnside, Covet, Bolide, LeGran, 800, T-Series, D/H/Roamer, Sunburst, BX, Pigeon)
-New engines (Burnside, 800, K-Series, T-Series, D/H/Roamer, Pigeon, Sunburst, BX)
-New variants for different markets (Covet, BX, Miramar, Bolide, Sunburst)
-Facelifts (Miramar, Burnside, Covet, D/H/Roamer, LeGran)

The '96 Pessima got exactly none of these in its remaster - it didn't even get AWD (which the LeGran received in its remaster). My question is...why? Why bother going through all the effort of remastering the car to add so little to it?

I really like what we got for this car - the GTZ and Touring Car are some of my favorite configurations in the game. Even the base model's a hoot to drive (and quite fast for what it is). But where's the rest of the content? (Unless this is all this car is going to get? It didn't get a Gambler variant, and it hasn't gotten any new body kits, either.)

I understand that the '96 Pessima was released around the same time as two other remasters (H-Series and Bolide) and a whole new car (Bastion), so there was definitely some splitting of focus. It seems like the other vehicles got the majority of that focus, while this car was remastered merely to get it on the same level as the other vehicles. Quality-wise, it's mostly there. But content-wise, it's about on par with the '88 Pessima and I-Series. At the time, those two cars were five-six years old, and hadn't received much since 2016.

Every other unibody post-1980 passenger car has AWD (with the exception of the Covet, BX, and Bolide, but at least those are RWD or get a RWD variant). While the '96 Pessima is very fast for a FWD-only car, it's still got a lower performance potential than many of the other cars in the game (even the Lansdale, which is much heavier).

And it's not like AWD disappeared entirely from mid-size FF-based Japanese sedans by the late-1990s. The '96 Galant and '98 626 still had AWD on some of their Japanese-market versions, so maybe, this car could get both a RHD interior and AWD in a future refresh. (I don't expect either of those to happen any time soon, though.)

I'd add that with the Sunburst Remaster, its rear suspension is VERY 96 Pessima looking (Some kind of a mix of a Multilink and a McPherson strut) So its not far fetched to redesign the subframe and the spindles to receive the Rear diff and halfshafts

And it's already got a solid transmission tunnel for the exhaust, as well - the '88 Pessima has its exhaust off to the side, allowing its rear driveshaft to go through the car unimpeded. It's not like it'd be the first car to have different exhausts for different powertrains - the LeGran/Wendover/Lansdale already do that.

    That is ballin.
