just send an email to them with your new username, reason for changing it (yes you need to do that..) and then just wait
So, basically, they will ask you why you want to change your username. They will normally take a few to 24 hours later to come to a decision on if they will accept it or not. If they do accept it, then hooray! You have a new username! If not, then you are stuck with that username. You can always try again later though.
Car_Killer has always been helpful imo, you just got to bring something to his attention and it will get fixed.

Bruh ive become anorexic now. due to reason that are to complicated tp explain and no one cares i simply cant eat as much as i used to i haven't stepped on my scale for a year now and i had no idea. i went from a 130 pounds to 115 . i was wondering why i was so weak and now it makes sense. it didn't even register in my mind that i look like the guy from the machinist movie lol. gg guys imma just turn to dust soon.
