Hmm. Now that I look at it, I can barely find any differences, but if you want to look for yourself, I recommend looking at the 1984 catalog for the Caprice and Impala online. Also, I can't figure out what cars used the more boxy speedometer and the circle-shaped, more modern speedometer. For example, I look at a picture of an '84 Caprice that has the round speedometer but then an '89 Caprice with a boxy one.
For the Caprice Classic, the CHP config definitely needs some refining to make it look a bit more of a true 80's CHP cruiser. --- Post updated --- And of course, there's always room for some more somewhat prototypical police designs for that and the Impala. And this is where I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure if they ever used these styles of 88s or 98s for police use.
The boxy one was the standard unit if I remember, and the circular one on later cars was extended range, but still 85 mph on early cars. Also, on some early cars with the circular instrument panel, there was a "fuel economy" gauge which really just measured throttle input by working off engine vacuum. Would that be possible to add?
Two things that should be fixed. The lights are way too dim, even when I have the high beams on, the headlights illuminate pretty much nothing. Also, the Custom Cruiser should mostly use wire hubcaps instead of flat ones, which would be more accurate.
Wire hubcaps were an optional extra until the 1985 upgrade as far as I remember. If it was a really popular extra then I can put them on more configs
does anyone notice that the configs with truck suspension want to pull to one side. also, when you look at the suspension on the lowrider extreme while the car is lifted, it is not straight. it only pulls with the gambler 500 config --- Post updated --- fully restored Oldsmobile Delta 88 with custom parts and tuning. bids start at $60,000
I think I have only one complaint with the mod, is that there is no low profile superchargers…even stage one sticks the through the hood . Why lol? Otherwise I love it, so happy to have one of my favourite mods back!
