Im pretty sure all you need to do is make a Google Drive or similar to host it, then once the Beam devs have downloaded it they can host it on the repo themselves. Once its on the repo you can delete the Google Drive. Or even just send them the link to the 17beams website that its already hosted on actually, that should work too.
Indeed this is what I have done. Although there is no information on who else to contact regarding this other than @Car_Killer, whom I have contacted.
There is a tool to shrink a map, it delete all the assets you did not used. Do not used this on the original map, make a copy of it before you use it https://www.beamng.com/threads/beamng-tool-for-map-creators-updated-2024-06-02.89058/
Indeed. I have written my own build tool to take this even further (my working directory is over 8 GiB which gets optimized to 1.3 GiB before release). The only way to decrease it further is to actually use less diverse assets to avoid bringing in so many textures. I mean just the road and terrain textures (imported from Italy) are already 370 MiB, so it seems impossible to adhere to 500 MiB.
2024.12.21.5ce8e24 This release changes the following: The off-road path in the middle of Arianna Island has been reworked. It is now more detailed and has a few challenging hills to crawl.
Thank you I have been asking for this since early on love how far this has come and still loving how professional your website and mods are. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Can't wait to see what's to come in the future.
2025.01.11.00d50c3 This release changes the following: The two off-road paths in the south and south-east of Arianna Island have been reworked. They are now more detailed and more challenging. Added a new POI and a short dirt road in the southern part of the map. Added missing AI road segments for routing. Fixed some floating and overlapping vegetation.
My kid likes driving the electric vehicles underwater. More plants in the shallows is welcome. It's a really good looking map.. Could you incorporate a road going through the castle? Can you suggest any good tutorials for map making? I've been trying to make a map for like 2 years. Can I hire you to finish a map I started?
This is in the plans! Not sure this is possible at the moment. I am mostly winging it. I have followed the official BeamNG documentation for the world editor and then drawn inspiration from looking at how the default maps are made. No, sorry. I am already struggling to find time working on this map.
On Tuesday, April 15th a new update to Arianna Island will be released! The update includes a brand new area in the south-east. Here are a few teasers of what to expect!
2025.04.14.ef21715 This release changes the following: Added a new section in the south-east with a 1.8 km main asphalt road and 1.4 km of flowy dirt roads. Added new POIs to explore, including a restaurant, sawmill and factory. Added Restaurant spawnpoint. Removed Convenience Store spawnpoint. Smoothened some unnatural bumps on off-road paths. General texture & blending refresh across the map.
The map is beautiful, but on ultra settings, it all glows. I understand that this is due to the use of wet ground texture. It would be great to replace this texture, but I realize that it's complicated and everything might break.
I know that if you set the Lighting Quality to a high, the ground glow will disappear, but the cars won't look as good.
Hello 17beams! The bridges seem to have a LOD issue. Video is attached below. Hope this gets fixed. Other than this small issue, it's a nice map with vanilla atmosphere and beautiful scenery!
2025.04.15.2aa1819 This release changes the following: Fixed LOD issue on the Arianna <> Arielle bridge (Thanks @VectriciXY). Base roughness texture updated, to avoid the sun glare effect on the ground (Thanks @Scout-8).
