Update Speculation thread

To relieve some of our pressure, the classic Top Gear Caravan Conkers video just showed up and I had an idea: how about playing darts with vehicles? Yeah, we have a minigame like that in the Automation Test Track, but we're still based on good old kinetic energy down the dam! Wouldn't a version with a moving platform powered by hydraulics be awesome?

The former adventurer branch of career mode was giving me hope for more silly "mini games" added, along with renewed focus on some forgotten features like track builder/light runner. The cannon missions we got a few updates ago for example are great fun. Recent comments from James suggest that career mode is getting more focused so we probably won't see these minigames in the current vision for career mode. Still, I hope more silly stuff will find its way in the official game somehow or another

Im not too sure since we just got a new car in the last update

 

Valid, but (devil's advocate take here) every update in the 0.22-0.25 period introduced one new car (the Wendover, Wigeon, Bastion, and Scintilla respectively). To a lesser extent, the 840-series in 0.28 bridged the gap between the 4.5 new cars in 0.27 and the Lansdale in 0.29.

 

I'm gonna be rather pessimistic this time and say the 8th-10th of April. I feel like if delays were necessary, there probably was a major issue that came up, which would need time to fix.

 

I agree with you. Would be funny if BeamNG dropped an “April Fools Update” on April 1 and the actual update, 0.35, would release a day later

Dang I totally forgot about that. That's a great point. I would love to see a modern Japanese SUV if thats what this could be.

 

I'm guessing Wednesday next week after final sunburst teaser.

I doubt it would be but that would be a nice touch.

 

They've never released major updates on Saturdays or Sundays before - certainly not in many, many years. They won't be doing it for this update.
