Jaguar just went through a rebrand and they released this thing, the type 00 concept (named after how many people will buy it lol). I personally think it looks terrible, the wheels are too big, the rear end looks like an ac unit, the roof is too low and it just lacks personality. The interior is so lifeless and bland that a Toyota Corolla looks good inside. I think that this is the end of Jaguar, they used to make cool lmp cars, the XJ220, the E-Type the F-type, the XF and many other great and interesting vehicles. RIP Jaguar
Jaguar lost its elegance the moment they rebranded - the logo looks like something straight out of the 1970s. It seems like they tried too hard to look modern. Volkswagen, Kia, and BMW modernised their logos and they did a much better job. Anyway, the Type 00 looks unappealing. It almost resembles a Tesla Cybercab in terms of design, the rear end looks bizarre, and the interior looks really lacklustre - the dashboard in particular lacks a speedometer, infotainment system or a radio, air conditioning unit, a cup holder, and even a transmission gearstick! And for some reason they decided to not include the most basic things included in the interior of a car, and the front seats are divided by some sort of wall. I know this is a concept car, but this is just unacceptable. On the other hand, I do like the shooting brake shape, though, although it looks a bit too squarish to even resemble something sporty, so.
I'm surprised they are able to sell this when most car brands didn't , i mean look at PSA with their E-Legend and Sm tribute , just to end up saying " iT wOulD bE tO ExPensiVe tO prOduCe "
Another Stupid modern car trying to hard to be "futuristic" that I will never afford it's not worth my time don't care.
I like any car ngl. and this one too (don't get me wrong i think the old jaguars are amazing) but i think any car deserves a chance.
I strongly believe the car is just at best a design study type thing or at most shovelware, just a concept car that will never make it to production. They know such a risk will affect them in their current market. Their production models will be much more tame and civilised like the overpriced regular traffic it has always been. Also, Jaguar has a track record of making cars deemed ugly when they were new but then age and get cherished pretty well (MK2, XJ around the early 00s, S type etc) so who knows?
JLR is already plagued from the reliability issues since day one, now the full electrification is going to bury this company.
Hot take: I quite like the design & a rebrand was needed. Jaguar needed to rebrand. Why? because the brand itself is stagnant and has been for the best part of 15 years. Sales are pathetic and they have slowly faded into irrelevancy. It is a really tough time for big car makers, let alone smaller one like Jaguar. BUT, the new logo is utter crap and the advert just reeks of late 2010s corporate bold & diverse 'join the revolution' bullshit. Basically a Balenciaga ad, but with slightly better outfits. If the new Jag started at around 60k, it would definitely interest me (as a buyer) - except it wont. It will be far north of 100k (possibly 150k) and that is enough for me to completely switch off and ignore the car, just like everyone else will do once it has launched. For some reason, Jaguar are incapable of making a decent 'budget' premium car. The X-Type was rubbish and the XE was completely unremarkable in almost every aspect except for its handling. But then again, cornering ability isn't exactly a priority for buyers in the compact-midsize premium saloon market. So in this respect, I can at least understand why they are chasing the high-profit margin ultra-luxury sector.
While I do agree Jaguar needed a rebrand, they needed to go in the luxury way. This rebrand and car is just some stupid futuristic liberal EV bs which won't sell at all. The rebrand made them loose all of their previous customers and gain a very niche customer base.
People are gonna buy that? I just need to go into the ROBLOX developer app toolbox and search for "car."
The roblox toolbox is a selection of models to make a game and the dev app is how you make the game. Back on topic the concept looks like some sort of roblox or Lego car
