This is a crash test barrier mod for BeamNG drive with 11 different barrier configurations (excluding mirrored versions) Avalible on Gumroad for 2 Euros here The barriers are similar to real life barriers used around the world in deformation pattern and in weight. Version history: 1.0 - Release version 1.1 (New) - Latest update with changes and fixes -Updated JBeams for Frontal New DBs and Lightweight/Lightweight New Side DBs to increase realism -Fixed weight inaccuracies, all barriers now accurate to 10kg plus or minus. Here are some more details about the mod Heavy Side DB (deformable barrier) This barrier was made to simulate side impacts from heavy SUVs/Trucks of the 90s/00s. It is mostly uniform in strength and shape except for the bumper bulge. Usually used at 50km/h - 31mph. It is succeeded by the Heavy New Side DB. Heavy New Side DB This barrier was made as a response to the changing frontal structures of 2010s/20s, which tend to have stiffer structural rails and softer middle/upper sections. Also has a bumper bulge. Usually used at 60km/h - 37mph. It also is heavier. Rear-Side DB This barrier is similar to a midsize car with mostly uniform in strength and shape except for the bumper bulge. Often used in rear impact testing to check for fuel leaks, usually at 80km/h - 50mph Also used for side testing for NCAP usually at 62km/h - 38.5mph. Frontal New DB This barrier was made to simulate frontal impacts, as well as to measure vehicle compatibility to more compatible frontal crumple zones that deform more effectively in real life crashes. It has a uniform shape with 2 sections, frontmost one being less rigid. Usually used at 50 km/h - 31mph or 56km/h - 35mph. Has a RHD variant. Frontal Classic DB This is a rare barrier made by combining a stationary offset DB and a crash cart. May simulate severe frontal crashes against another car of fixed weight, rather than an equivalent of a test vehicle. Usual use speed is 60km/h - 37mph. Has a RHD variant. Now onto the stationary barriers Small Offset This barrier simulates small offset crashes into a street pole/tree type of structure where vehicles miss their main deforming structural rails and impact the cabin harshly. Its has a half circle part combined to a wall. Has a RHD variant. Small Offset 50R This barrier was used in research to develop the Small Offset barrier. Also has a half circle, smaller, part combined to a wall. Has a RHD variant. Small Offset 250R This barrier was also used in research to develop the Small Offset barrier. Its a fully circular pole, also used to test side pole impacts. Has a RHD variant. Some of the barriers are mirrored to allow the testing of LHD and RHD vehicles where applicable. Although the barriers take heavy inspiration from their real life counterparts, they should NOT be used for real life comparisons
Not a good move being on here since a week ur first Message and then make a paid mod when no one knows you and bro Paid Crash Test Barriers just NO a Car mybe if the People know you but since no one knows u u should not do a Paid mod for something like this. that is a not an acceptable Move imo
Well gotta start from somewhere. This mod will have decent number of different deformable/rigid barriers with different weigths. I know this isn't a whole car mod so I will try to price it accordingly.
Maybe we just use the crash craft and deformable barrier on repo? Or if you can say anything special your mod had or why it worth beaing paid
Some real side barriers for example have strong and weak areas and differing geometries to simulate frontal structures of cars. They also weigh differently to simulate hits from such vehicles. This mod aims to simulate such features so its about having more realistic barriers.
The only reason people is disliking your work is because we have no prior knowledge of your work. We don't know your work or whether it's worth paying for, unless you show us, like Blooperr said; You're also a new forum member which further limits credibility because no one knows who you are. Correct me if im wrong. Also there's nothing wrong with paid mods itself, but they generally tend to have sufficient evidence/quality to sell. I'd reccomend showing us your modding experience and the Jbeam/Deformation, also if you've made the 3d model from scratch or gotten it somewhere.
yeah thing is nobody knows who you are and you havent even proven yourself, thats why most people that make paid mods ( at lkeast reputable ones) have a solid history of releasing free ones
Quality of the mod looks pretty good so far, I'm actually really curious to see where this goes. That being said, you're new here and nobody has seen what you're capable of, so barely anyone will want to buy the mod if it's paid, since they don't know the full quality of what they're paying for. I would argue that you would have a better chance of making money off this if you released this for free on the repository and set up a donation link. That way, if people like what they see, then they have the option to support you and your future mods.
I get paid mods if they're scratch-made very high quality car, but it doesn't make much sense for something as simple as a crash test cart
