Right now my truck is in the shop getting the rusted out rocker panels replaced. After that the rear wheel wells will need fixed then there will be no more rust!
Last coat of primer on the Sprinter fenders and valance (unless I fucked up again and it doesnt cure right) Soon it will be 100% Toyota 3h7 red, and ready for reassemble!
Power steering pump starting complaining today after pissing out hydraulic fluid everywhere last night. I'll do a full flush sometime this week, probably. If that doesn't work, I might have to check for blockages/leaks or replace the pump... Weird thing is that the fluid level is good, though it's brownness suggests that I've been a bit lazy with maintenance. OBD didn't throw any error codes, which is weirder. Power steering pressure switch might be playing up as well, though the flush should prove otherwise. I still love this stupid, stupid Audi to bits.
Taking mine to garage, see if I can get current rear left tyre swapped onto "spare" rim and then swap the rims
Rerouted the filling pipe for the tank. Also fitted the mentioned fuel tank. Moved the rear subframe bolts and now theyre in the way. In the process of making my car street legal with a v8 swap. Car is a 350z and to get it legal i need to replace the following with NON-bolt on parts: engine, complete drivetrain including tranny rear subframe diff arms etc, complete brake system. Not much left compared to when i started
Replaced the fuel filter on my Audi yesterday, it was leaking badly and was very rusty. I hope I will get better mileage now
I understand it is not your intentions to sound like a ass, Please remember we are talking about someone's pride here. It's their passion, Please respect it even if it is not your cup of coffee.
i shouted at mine cause it didnt tell me about the damn ice that put us side ways this morning!!! then again its only a standard toyota aygo but hay ho
Got news on the crown vic title yesterday...er more so news that there is no news. They didn't get anything in on it, even though they thought they did. I hope this stuff sorts itself out soon. It's getting quite irritating being tied up this whole thing, not knowing whether I'll even be getting the car or not. I also have this.
Little bit of a squeak there. Sound's like my Rangers squeak. But the 4.6 is SOHC not OHV like my truck so... Love that intake sound. Can't wait to get a new one on mine.
It was supposed to be a simple coolant flush and brief power steering once-over. (imported from here) That doesn't look good. Oil's not milky, so I'll put my money on corroded bits flaking off from the radiator rather than chunks of head gasket. For now. (imported from here) One and a half hours later... How did it go so wrong? Ended up Inox-ing the pulleys while I could access them to try and pinpoint a high pitched squealing which I suspect is from a dirty bearing. (imported from here) Amazing how much engine they can shove into so little space! (imported from here) Still couldn't find the source of the massive hydraulic fluid leak even with the front end off. Steering pump looks fine, some residue on the hoses, but they aren't weeping. Tierod ends are spotless. Wtf?
Time for an EPS conversion then. Corsa B or C is the best donor column for that (a Corsa is good for one thing at least) Also saves weight for the track day Turns out I have to buy a new wheel for my car, maybe 2
I need a car, I got my learners but only driven on the road once, I need to get rid of some bad habits and I need to learn how to drive manual!
It was a pretty cold day and it was the first time being run in 3 months, so it was being a little quirky. I waited for it to warm up before revving the piss out of it, of course. I'm no monster. It had a pretty loud belt squeak when I first started it up, but it went away as it warmed up. May have been a bit of that still hanging around. I'm also debating what to do about the intake. Part of me wants to keep the filter on there, but part of me wants to get an airbox.
Ripped this piece of crap apart, It was missing so natarully I decided to check all the spark plugs, Turns out you have to remove half the engine to get to 3 spark plugs. After a lot of messing around it turns out that the distributor had a crack in it. Isnt it amazing how one little thing can fuck up a whole engine....
