    Hello there,

So I have been getting some public domain/CC0 textures online, from Polyhaven, and when I put them in my map, they look fine from afar, but close by, they're this hideous blue colour. If anyone knows the reason for this, I would appreciate it, so I can go and fix that.

Would be looking forward to anybody who can help me with this.

    Kindest regards,
    Brendon

Bro do you have some ahh modland mods instaled (Disgunting fanuntax terrible quality mods) if yes, delete the mod and do a huge cache cleaning in support tools, maybe this texture not is made for beamNG, or maibe Unreal engine games.

This is due to the wrong DXT DDS format used on the specular / reflective mappings. Remove said maps from the material editor and this will go away. Remove different texture layers until it goes away if it initially does not and re-add ones that don't change things, one layer at a time until the blue returns. Then go and re-format the offending texture.
There's specifics on required texture formats on the editing wiki somewhere. Yes it's a PITA, but you need to use ATI2 DXT5 DDS for normals (it's yellow-ish), and I believe, for the rest of them, DXT7 sRGB (don't use linear, it's too bright usually).
Yes it's a pain in the butt, however when it does work they DO look nice.
