those are some cool looking seats tbh kinda nice to see something that isn't black/beige/gray like almost every car on the street right now. everything is kind of soulless now
ive also just made the main body normals, so texturing is your calculations are wrong, theres no way to put a timeframe on modding
The engine looks like it's a 3 cylinder, which wouldn't be accurate as they never offered them, there where only various 4 cylinders (1149 cubic 54/58 hp, 1149 cubic 16 valve 75 hp, 1239 cubic 55 hp) the last one is the most accurate as it was offered from the beginning until april of 1996 when the 54 hp one took its place because of emissions and stuff. Also the exhaust is a bit off as the muffler is built in longitudinal in the original car and the first muffler in the middle didn't exist until it's first facelift in 1998 (and was optional from there). Apart from that, the model, undercarriage and all the little details look very good and damn accurate. Please keep in mind that I love this project and I'm only providing information about the real car, trying to make it as accurate as possible. For the scrap config: - Typical rust issues (pretty much everything on the undercarriage and rear axle because of bad protection, side skirts especially at the front where the bottom of the fender meets the side skirt because that's where wet leaves and dirt gets piled up, the bottom of the doors because the water outlets where too small and the doors were not painted on the inside.) - The ignition coil was placed in a bad spot on the engines from 1996 upwards so it was prone to get too hot and fail to give spark to cylinder 4. You had to keep the engine between ~1500 and ~3000 rpms to make it run somewhat smooth. - Leaking gaskets between the oil sump and block are a common problem on all renault engines from the 80s and 90s (it could have not enough oil in it to simulate that) - The electric radiator fan on the 1239 cubic engine failed often, resulting in overheating engines because not enough air could get through the front of the car. - Clearcode peeling off of the paint on Phase 1 models - 1239 Cubic engine had a timing chain (No need to change for at least 300,000 kms), most owners never changed the waterpump on these because they didn't know, resulting in slowly overheating the engine. - Failing alternators, failing alternators and I nearly forgot, failing alternators (I can change it in 15 minutes because I've done it so many times, even on the autobahn at 3 a.m.) Apart from all that, these cars (at least Phase 1) were bulletproof and actually quite crash resistant because the huge, very soft bumpers
Man, I already love it! My first car was a yellow-green(ish) 1998 Twingo. I loved that thing. Can“t wait to recreate my froggo in Beam! <3
Yeah I also totally forgot about the first post where you mentioned the engine... Btw, will it have the big folding sunroof (the only option the car had in its first 2 years, trim level "air")? Is it that bad already? The bottom of the fender is the most common spot on the more modern ones. Replace the fenders and clean up behind them once a year and it should be fine if the rust hasn't taken over the sideskirt yet.
the underside has deep rust around the muffler and in the floor in the front, the passenger door is rusted through and need to be replaced, the driver door is getting rusty too. i might inherit my parents' old fabia SDI which doesn't need any fixes and i would get it for free, so i decided to get last few things fixed on the twingo and try to sell it to some twingo enthusiast who's willing to keep it going. here it is, it's a limited "beach" edition with a folding cloth roof, special beach interior and tons of optional extras.
