the devs have stated that they wouldn't make any convertibles unless they get some kind of sound that would change whether or not the roof was up or down but what better time to add that than a christmas update
Now I know the old car is a Bruckell, but the pickup behind is 99% a Bruckell as well, but I have a theory. What if it is a 1934 Gavril D-Series?
Im so excited that I'm energetic! I've never been so excited for a beamng update before, its so beautiful. I know what my default vehicle is going to be, a stock one!
now im actually wondering: why December 9th specifically? did the devs just spin the wheel, or does it have any meaning behind it, either lore-wise or irl?
We have the Hopper and targa Civetta's, so something that doesn't need to dynamically change sounds should be fine. A roadster/speedster is possible IMO. In other news, this teaser dropped just as I was updating my teaser log... Back to the writing room I go...
A teaser on Monday could mean the update would come tomorrow, or the Nine in it could reference the Packard Ninth Series.
To be fair, these sorts of cars aren't typically massively valuable - a stock Ford Model A tends to go for $15-35K, while a stock Ford Model B will set you back about $30-50K. A stock '37 Dodge is about $15-20K, while a stock '34 Chevrolet's about $30K. I could see the base-model versions of this car being around these prices, with freeroam prices a fair bit higher. I think they've done them in the past many years ago, but yeah, this is really bizarre. Likely, it was just when the car was ready to be shown off.
i'd personally still give it a week or 2 until release. mainly to iron out any possible bugs that slipped in.
Also, while I was searching for prices on those old US cars, I came across this custom woody wagon. This would be so funny as a base-game or mod body.
if my memory serves me right, the Bastion was added in a .1 update. i'd love to see them do that again with this magnificent plank, unless they manage to squeeze it into the final release instead --- Post updated --- also i forgot, was it qa_latest or qa_stable we should be on lookout for on steamdb?
To be fair, I've tended to be a bit more pessimistic about the holiday updates than what tends to happen - in 2022, I thought that 0.27 would only have a couple of the five vehicles teased, with the rest being released in a "0.27.1" update. And then they dropped all five in at once. In 2023, I thought that 0.31 would drop on the 19th - it ended up releasing on the 14th. So, for all we know, the devs have probably already made that plank a thing in the game - wouldn't be the first time they've added something wooden on a whim (the piano was just a thing that Mitch made on a whim before 0.10 released, and the others thought "Oh, neat, piano" and added it into the game). And it is qa_stable we should be watching - qa_latest doesn't mean much that often.
That's obviously heavily modified, this is what it most likely looked like from factory While these old wagons did use wood for part of the body work, the front end was still the same as on the standard bodies to save money. Other bodies also sometimes used wood but not on the exterior. (This is unrelated to the update, just wanted to correct the mistake)
I'm aware of what stock woody wagons would look like - I just like the idea of something like that sillier homebuilt wagon being a thing in the game.
as i thought. i did also notice that the creator program was updated a few hours ago, so i image we could be expecting videos on the new update soon.
