Solved Hirochi RUSH no sound for rotary

The hirochi rush's rotary sound is broken for me in the main game but it works perfectly in safe mode
anyone know why

 

Try to uncheck "Stereo Headphones" in Options - Audio, might need a game restart to work.

How on earth did you discover this

 

I just created a new user folder and saw that the sound was fine and then expected it to be another mod conflicting, so I reverted back to my old user folder and removed all mods apart from the Rush but the sound was still broken.

Then I started removing different parts of the user folder until I found that removing(and thus regenerating) the settings files fixed it. Then I proceeded to manually set all my settings back while checking the rotary engine sound until I checkmarked Stereo Headphones option and the car went silent.
