Yeah its kinda sad the whole car is FWD now. Id really like a version with RWD with a normal transmission and some hub motors in front.
I have BeamNG version 31, bought and downloaded from Steam. The Hybrid mod and cars do not work, I have deleted all other mods, did a clean install and added only the arcanox and ETK-hybrid mods, but it just tells me that something is broken. SAFE MODE doesn't help either. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. This mod (citybus and etk) is great, I haveee been using it for many years now. Especially the ETK hybrid, I like using the 2.0 diesel with the sport eCVT. I just have a few complaints ( more so constructive criticism) and would really appreciate if you could look into them for me. Poor torque management - I am a big fan of Toyota's hybrid system (especially the gen 4 and 5) and one thing i love most is how it modulates the torque output, this mod is great but one major issue is; It spits all the power out at once (major major major wheel spin), in the eco eCVT it does not do this but in the sport it does and it's very annoying and there's virtually nothing i can do to stop this as the electric motor is too powerful for its own good... I would love if there is a way that you could (in the next update, if possible) that you design a function so the system effectively modulates the torque (when starting from a standstill or under speeds like 30mph), the electric motor does not instantly give 100% of its power. It simply is too much instant torque for the front axle to handle. Really ruins the way the car drives. Questionable hybrid behaviour - I love doing lots of miles on the hybrid system but one thing that annoys me quite alot is the fact that the hybrid system leaves the engine on idle (when EV mode is deemed unsuitable) even at high speed and just allows the battery to totally discharge, which then causes the engine failure message to appear, i therefore have to reload the car and start again. Quite annoying... If i want to prevent the battery totally discharging, I have to put the car into charge mode which then revs the nuts out of the engine to try and charge the battery. Is it possible for the system to just start charging it automatically when it goes under a certain percentage (while still allowing EV mode when like lifting off the accelerator or driving slowly), just like in a Toyota hybrid where when you are at highway/motorway speeds, the engine will drive the car and charge the battery (if it is low on charge). Thanks for reading this. None the less your mod is still great, just a few things that could be improve, that's all!
Hm, #1 sounds like you might be driving using keyboard...is that the case? It does have built-in filtering to smooth out the torque delivery, but it's quite a fast filter in the sport version so that you can punch it and spin the tires if you want. (I daily-drive a RAV4 PHEV and it will very happily let me chirp the tires if I ask it to) I haven't observed #2 happening before...it's supposed to limit the output power if the battery gets too low, and definitely does attempt to recharge the battery with the engine if it's below a certain threshold. Keep in mind that above a certain speed (usually a very high speed you would almost never reach in real life), it's impossible for it to keep accelerating without draining the battery, even with the engine working full force. But again, it's supposed to limit the output power so it can't drain the battery too low...I'm not sure what would prevent that from happening.
Hi, Thanks for your response. I use a Logitech g920 wheel with pedals and gearshift, I don't drive like a maniac on beam but I have noticed from driving the ETK a long time with the sport hybrid system, it does like to spin those tyres. In the video attached below, I just briefly demonstrated what I was talking about. It seems to spit the power out in a very agressive manor. This would be ok if the car was RWD or (a true) AWD but as a fwd drivetrain, it's too much power at once. I just wanted to let you know. Thanks for your help!
May I ask why the engine kills itself after the battery runs out? I have also experienced this issue on the capsule bus and the engine turns over but never achieves to properly start.
I'm not sure what's going on; it sounds like there might be a bug in some math somewhere (maybe some code in the base game changed and is returning a different value now, or something). When everything is working normally, the battery should never be able to run completely out unless the car runs out of gas. It's not supposed to shut the engine off if the battery is below a certain amount (unless you turn the whole car off, of course).
By Google I don't know if it's correct, but this is the log when I selected Sport eCVT with a V8 engine installed and crashed. I believe this to be an issue in the game itself, as it's a crash in the native game code and not the Lua script engine. I can reproduce the crash on my end as well, but mods shouldn't be capable of causing C++ crashes that aren't an actual issue with the game, so I think the core BeamNG devs will probably need to fix this one. Can you explain what you did to trigger this issue? I have tried to intentionally drain the battery as far as I can and I'm observing it behaving as expected, where it will limit output power and run the engine until the battery is charged back up enough. --- Post updated --- The hybrid system isn't designed for gasoline engines with turbos...it is likely spooling up faster than the hybrid system can alter the balance between gas and electric (there are filters in place to prevent surges and spikes, but the turbo itself will cause a sudden surge in torque). Regardless, at 80% throttle on a vehicle with as much power as your configuration looks to have, seeing some tire spin is very expected.
Help me, i have been download the newer mod and installed it in the V0.33, but in my game error as at my picture. I have been reinstall and delete all folder until user folder but the problem are still same
Hello, author. Please forgive me for explaining the relevant problems I encountered again. First of all, I also encountered the same problem as Prambagus Wibisono. Hybrid models loaded with etk800 or buses always prompt problems with vehicle loading, and hybrid mod cannot be used normally. Secondly, the model equipped with a 100kwh battery will cause the engine to be damaged and unable to start when driving at low speed for a short time, so that the vehicle becomes a pure electric vehicle. If possible, I think it would be more appropriate to replace the rear axle model with a motor, and at the same time, a battery pack model can be added, but it is not an easy thing.
Hello Arcanox, Would I get your permission to let this mod be added to the CaRP BeamMP Server? It would be awesome to drive a Realworld-like hybrid in the CaRP for passenger missions.
Is there a way to make this hybrid powertrain work with other mod vehicles? Like say a Toyota Camry or Sienna hybrid mod?
