All my life I've been using 'pre-built' Pc's and laptops, but I feel it's time to take the next step . Though, I'm not sure how to do it, I mean, I'm a complete no0b when it comes to GPUs, CPUs motherboars and stuff.. All this i7 2700k 4.5Ghz 4gb and stuff sounds like chinese to me . So what's your 'workflow' when looking into building a new PC? of course you already have a previous knowledge which I completely lack, so, should I just go and compare dozens of videocards, each one by one and their price, reviews, and do this for every component? There are also some websites that provide some pre-made build configurations, maybe it's just better to take this easy route the first time, and then upgrade it from there in the future. Or suggest some good pre-built PCs for gaming I see many people posting their specs and it seems they've chosen every component personally, from the case to the CPU, GPU etc, I guess that's just the most advanced people . Ooor I can forget the idea and stick with my laptop. No, but really it's time to get a real powerful PC . Sorry if this has been already answered or if you consider this is not the right place to post it, but I think it's still kind of on-topic And sorry for no0b question. Thanks
building a pc is like lego's with instructions (instructions and lego's? who ever uses that together) don't force things into anything if it doesn't seem to want to go, and you're pretty much golden there are also TONS of videos on youtube about how to build a pc first thing before you go into everything though is budget what is your max budget?
so about $1K? that gives you plenty of room to work with going to continue this discussion via pm so as not to fill up this thread though
Hey, I could build it for you. Here's a $1000 build though. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/htT8yc Obviously you could change some stuff like brands, but it's an outline. Maybe a better CPU, more RAM, an SSD. Something like that. If you have an OS switch that $100 for a better case or PSU. I choose 8.1 because it should be a free switch to 10 once it comes out.
+1 the quality of that build. I cant comment on pricing since im in the UK but that will be a quality computer.
But if you don't care about the rest just get the cheapest stuff. A gt610 and 4GB of RAM. A 32GB HDD. An off-brand 400w PSU. I don't get it.
Starting to put together the new build! ROG Maximus V Extreme motherboard, you know how hard it is to find a decent board for 1155 CPUs now? Sticking to 1155 because I don't really see a need to upgrade just yet. i5 - 3450, needs an upgrade, wanna go to a 3570k. Not going to i7, not worth it tbh. Will do in the future. Galax gtx970, bumping to 2x SLI 970's once funds allow. 8gb G.Skill Ripjaw ram. Gonna move to 16 gb at some point, I do production things, and run a certain game that easily eats up crazy amounts of ram (6+gb) *cough* Starmade *cough* OCZ Agility III 256gb SSD + 6tb rotary space. All wrapped up in a soundproof case I'm currently downloading all motherboard drivers on slow internet. I will post pictures of the completed build once it's finished!
Here, try this: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/9NRZjX I left case/PSU out because the cheapest case was a very expensive AUD 48 Cooler Master N300, you can easily get a $20 case with a generic PSU and save money. You do realise at this point nobody in this forum is taking you seriously, don't you? Really though, a 5960X is a huge waste of money. Unless you do video rendering, and I mean thousand dollars worth of video rendering, there's no point in getting it over a 4790K. For gaming, the 4790K is actually better because it's a whole 1GHz faster. Yes, you can make the 5960X go at 4 GHz with good cooling, but by then the 4790K is doing 4.8 and beat you again. If you really just want Haswell-E that badly, get a 5820K which is rather reasonably priced, only difference you'll spend twice as much on a motherboard for 2 extra cores, and again, the 5820K is only clocked at 3.3 GHz which makes it worse for gaming since each core does less. The only reason to buy a 5960X is to tell people you have a CPU that's worth as much as nearly their whole PC. If you want to do video rendering, get a 4790K and a $700 Quadro card which will be much faster for rendering than a 5960X. Or just buy a 4790K and use whatever GPU you have, anything better than a 750 Ti will be faster at rendering than any CPU in the market.
Delidded 4670k @4.9 Ghz 66c under load Noctua NH-D14 EVGA Stinger Z87 Gigabyte Windforce GTX 770 1TB WD blue All wrapped up in a Bitfenix Prodigy with an apple logo on the front, for optimal weeaboo trickery Due to r/hardwareswap and deals, less than $650ish in it all
Ivy Bridges are soldered AFAIK, Haswell and Devil Thingy aren't anymore, and the Devil thingy got a rework for the lack of soldering.
With the GTA V PC specs coming out, i just noticed that the minimal needed processor is the one i have http://www.rockstargames.com/newswi...w-release-date-first-screens-and-system-specs AAAAAnd then there is the fact that i am running linux and that there is 100% DX10
Nehalem and Sandy bridge were soldered. Ivy bridge and Haswell ditched the soldering for a cheaper thermal compound. The main difference between Haswell and Devil's Canyon is that Devil's Canyon has the IHS soldered to the die.
git windows fgt Also > March 24th NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Read 4690K there :| Not that I would delid mine anyway. Wouldn't want to clean thermal paste off the die.
