There must be something wrong with my career mode cause I've been playing it for hours now and it doesn't change time at all
I can't understand how no one has fixed the night yet, not even modders, is it really that hard? Even the daylight needs a revamp, the game at noon looks terrible because it has the sun perfectly vertical like at equinox on the Equator, making the shadows as small as possible. Why don't each map have a realistic latitude setup for the Sun? Right now the only way to have the game look good is at sunset and that's it
i think a cool addition to the game would be something that shows a little new badge to configs and parts the devs add and a mod badge with the new badge for mods. i feel like its a pain to look for the mods or parts that were added
Was looking through files for the Thumbnail generator. I found the camera offsets for the MD-Series and T-Series. And there are 2 configs for the MD -Series which it is refrencing which dont exist. A Bus and a Towtruck. "md_series/bus":{ "configCamEnabled":false, "modelCamEnabled":false "md_series/md_60_towtruck":{ "configCamEnabled":false, "modelCamEnabled":false
Very possible as FUN FACT! School buses are NOT buses! They are built on truck bodies! That's why they are so high up. I forgot why, think it had to do with surplus trucks after WW2.
That doesn't make them not buses though, even if they are different to a city bus. The first buses were based on truck frames. Bus missions in an old bus sounds pretty fun, struggling to keep up with traffic up a hill lol The MD is a much better base for offroading too, excited for some school bus rock bouncing
Off topic but fun history lesson... Busses aren't always even self propelled vehicles. In the early/mid 20th century busses were sometimes just a semi-trailer with seats and windows. You don't see them often anymore as they fell out of favor due to need for additional crew and safety concerns, but some countries do still use them. IIRC the US Army still uses their "cattle cars" as well. Sometimes instead of a semi-truck and trailer it will just be a bus being flat towed by another bus (Wentward refresh content?.. In a way it's just a bendy bus without the bendy bit) As for the school bus conversation... There's been tons of different busses over the decades so you can't really generalize about them as a species. Type A school busses are just van based mini busses, you'll see those in transit use on low volume routes. Type B and Type C busses are the ones relevant to the MD bus conversation as those are built on truck chassis (sometimes a step van, usually a medium duty truck, more recently often these are bespoke platforms). Type D busses are the COE type, which can share parts with or be straight up the same model as a typical city bus (some PD's will also use them as mobile command centers, you will also see them as mobile libraries, blood drive trucks, etc...)
Maybe the official parts could be marked with a small BeamNG logo, and the mod parts could be marked with a hammer?
Yep, kinda like The Sims 2 where custom content is marked with an asterisk. It's a pain in the arse to tell which part belongs to which mod, especially if they have the same name.
and thats why i also thought of the modded will use the creators logo with the new mark similar how the "content manager" for Assetto Corsa does with the same option to show how long the user wants to see what mod or official content was new maybe the "new" indicator could be a visible orange dot on the thumbnail like seen in this screenshot View attachment 1176873
it would also be cool if they reworked the Belasco Raceway a little, the chicane before the long Right-hander next to the drag strip could use some work, for me its killing the flow of the track, simply because its a chicane with made out of two hairpins (theyre both over 90 degrees).that part of track handles really awkward imo
Very nice! But get this, that file you have is also referencing 2 other configurations, which happen to be a Short School Bus, and a Drift configuration as well. Cheers!
Ohh, now that you mentioned it, I checked the config files and it IS the Skid-Brick. Thanks for the info.
I wonder if it’ll have a propane powered config Around here, around 50-60% of our buses run on propane, and 40-30% are Diesel and the rest are Electric
