Detailed Mirrors Disappear If Camera Is Too Far?

Ever since the detailed mirrors came out (where you can see your car in the mirror) there was a minor thing that always bugged me, if the camera is far away the detailed mirrors don't work (your car won't show in the mirror anymore).

Screenshot 2 - The camera is a bit further back (past the rear bumper) but your car doesn't appear in the mirror anymore

Is there any way to make it appear when the camera is further away, or is this impossible to change?

 

I think it's because of the engine limitations or for optimisation.

 

Maybe it is but is there a way to override this or change it??

 

Apparently it's intentional to improve optimization, is there any way to change this or override it? In what lua/json file or so on could it be?
