What is that?

 

ELUA that you must accept when you launch the game, not played beamng in a while so i dont know if its new or not

My god I’m late! Just seen the Teaser Tuesday and looking forward to some new customisation!

 

Theory: if by any chance the devs are working on a tuning / street racing update, they could definitely get around to make the exhaust backfiring system a bit more realistic, both in technical, (like the sound the exhaust makes when backfiring or make it a bit shaky when flaming hot and backfiring also, Glowing hot red exhausts for when the exhaust temp is really high is a good idea too, it’s not impossible since we have had such mods like the glowing brake discs mod.) and more importantly, visual ways, the backfire texture that comes out of the flaming exhaust is just some different 2D textures untouched from 2015, they could really get around onto improving or even reworking that (assuming they’re doing a tuner update since this topic relates to that.)

 

I'm sure there will be a steady drip-feed of racing oriented updates for a while to come, wouldn't be suprised if something like this gets added eventually

 

I think the latest we could get this update would be in the very end of September. It would be just enough time to squeeze in an holiday update.

Capital letters look kind of suspicious to me.

 

nono I've seen that before, thats not from the game files or not originally from there at least, its a primitive head-only texture from what I believe is one of the DRIVER games (hence why its DRIVER in all caps, likely an unedited filename)

I believe this stems from Assetto Corsa, given the DRIVER_XXXX naming scheme and NM (normal map) file alongside it, probably a mod of sorts given the DDS file having a preview generated by WIndows, a telltale sign of an uncompressed DDS file, not something recommended nor done by official content, a quick search in my Assetto Corsa folder finds a very similar file.
