Citroen made some great looking cars in the 1970's and 1980's, but there hasn't been a single good looking french car since what, 2008?

This is true. Like where the Silverados posted in this thread are deemed ungly but I think they look very nice in person (I see them regularly on the roads now), and I know I'm not the only one, but there will be people that come and say otherwise, that is fine, they just don't like it. Granted the 2500 and 3500 could look a bit better, but they aren't horrible.

The DS3 started production in around 2008 and that looks fantastic to me. The DS4 also looks very nice for a crossover, not sure what year that is, I think it's 2010+.

I forgot about the DS3. An exception.
Citroen is just going crazy on their designs now though. And not the good, we-built-an-anti-radar-car-because-we-can crazy.

I prefer the GMC counterpart. The headlights and grill on the Chevys are too big in my opinion.

If they had turned on the 4wd on the American trucks the outcome would have been different...

You can swap the ram's cummins into a D90 (has been done before), suddenly the outcome is no different.
You can also clearly see the defender is having *major* problems with traction on the front wheels, its effectively running rwd. The bigger ram even has duallies

The thing with pickups are that they have very little weight over the rear wheels whilst that Land Rover is built in an entirely different way. Duallies don't add much traction if there is not any weight pushing them down on the ground, the main reason they are there is because they can handle more weight than regular wheels. Try adding a ton of sand in the bed of the pickups and the outcome could very well be different. I think there is not anything fair in comparing a 4x4 with a 4x4 if one of them is in 2 wheel drive...

I do like both the Land Rovers and American pickups, but this comparison makes no sense to me.

Any of those big american pickups has at least twice as much weight on the rear wheels as your average family sedan. argument = invalid

And the Land Rover is better anyway because it's not the size of a cargo ship.

Argument invalid. Defenders are constructed as a body on frame pickup with an aluminium bed cover. Ram bed probably weighs almost as much as entire defender body.

These things all have such retarded looking front ends. What's up with that big open frowny face looking grille in the front?
IMO the only car that can pull this look off is the Ram 1500
    Dodge_Ram_1500_V8.JPG
And even that looks kinda weird.

Still doesn't change the fact that the Ram's were in 2 wheel drive

doesnt change the fact that the ram should still have more rear traction than the defender does across all 4 wheels.
There is a really obvious advantage given to the defender, but I'm surprised you guys are still picking up on the invalid ones.
