I managed to finish the race 1st because I collided 5 times :).

Cool! I can't wait to explore different map missions! (eventually) speaking of maps, you guys should consider doing another automation map collab with that new superspeedway track they added.

Speaking of the automation test track, a lot of people have pointed out that the game has jdm cars but no Japan map, but in my opinion the bigger problem is that the game has a New Zealand map but no NZDM cars.

The only cars that would be legal are the JDM Covet, the 200BX and Diana

Heya folks! I'd like to share some exciting updates on the developments we're currently focusing on:

    • Delivery System: We’ve further developed the Delivery skill within the Labourer branch, allowing players to finally be able to achieve Level 5. At this level, players can now transport fuel from refineries to fuel stations, and we're starting to add deliveries for other bulk materials like sand, gravel, water, and hazardous waste. A fun mechanic here is the ability to just go to the refinery, fill up however much fuel you want, and start driving around delivering it in whatever order you choose, no longer being limited to just A-B deliveries. Instead, players will benefit from some strategic planning on which fuel stations will yield the best rewards and which routes they want to take to achieve them! A sort of, "Choose your own adventure" if you will, but with bulk materials. Levels 1-4 deliveries will be the standard, "take this thing, to this place, and you are finished" where Level 5 will be more, "take however much you want or can, and deliver it to as many places as you'd like in whatever order you'd like to."

    • Loaned Vehicles: Starting at Level 4, players who need a transport truck for towing large/heavy trailers will have them provided by Shuffleboard Logistics, our first persistent in-game business! This relationship continues into Level 5, where players select specialized trailers and trucks, such as fuel tankers, also provided by Shuffleboard Logistics. Although a portion of the delivery earnings goes to Shuffleboard Logistics, players aren't on the hook for fuel costs, insurance, or even traffic violations, enabling them to experience heavy vehicle operation without an initial investment of purchasing the trucks or trailers to make these deliveries. However, those of you looking to customize their truck must first purchase one, opening up personalization opportunities.
    • Reputation System: Using vehicles from Shuffleboard Logistics positively without unnecessary detours or traffic violations improves your reputation with the company. Higher reputation unlocks access to superior trucks, enhancing delivery efficiency and reducing the cut taken by Shuffleboard. Conversely, poor handling or traffic infractions can degrade your reputation, leading to decreased profits and access only to lower-quality, barely-functioning trucks. This reputation system will start to be extended across various in-game businesses, including steel factories, quarries, and more, influencing gameplay across different modules from police interactions to vehicle acquisitions.
Currently, the loaned vehicles and reputation systems are designed to work in tandem, offering a tailored experience to each player based on their gameplay choices. Whether you adhere to the rules for optimal rewards or take a more reckless approach, these mechanics allow for deep customization and varied gameplay without the costly prerequisite of vehicle ownership. This evolution from our initial "provided vehicle" concept includes more refined gameplay mechanics, ensuring that every player's experience is both unique and engaging!

We're still in the thick of it, it's early days, but it's coming together very nicely and I can't wait for folks to get their hands on it! I just got off a call with the vehicle lead regarding "Shuffleboard Logistics" specific skins for the loaned vehicles to add that extra touch of, "this ain't yours, treat it well" while hauling 10,000L of fuel around WCUSA.

That's great to hear, can't wait to check it out! I love the idea of a reputation system with Shuffleboard and am interested to see how you apply that system elsewhere. Also certainly looking foward to what the skin looks like :)

On the topic of liquid deliveries... I don't actually know, does/will the game simulate free surface effects? The importance of that bit of physics can't be overstated. A little tidbit I love is that most (but not all) jurisdictions require milk trailers not have baffles (since they are difficult to sanitize) which makes milk a far more dangerous cargo than petrol

Until you add tire wear and brake pad and disc wear, I will not play in career mode as a matter of principle:D

Is it? It seems that they can only be overheated and thus destroyed, I did not find any natural wear, it would be nice to have a widget to observe the wear of brake disks and brake pads

The current trailers do simulate baffles as far as I understand, and I'm not positive about free-flowing - in the case of milk for instance - but one of the things we're doing regarding fluid deliveries, is we have been playing with a smaller roof-mounted fluid container, that certainly won't be baffled. So you can drive around with your Scintilla or Covet with a big'ol fluid box on the roof!

    :(

That's correct. At the moment they can overheat, and the thermals exist, but the actual brake pad wear and life are not simulated at the moment. I am making noise about this on and off in various meetings, but at the moment the priority isn't there and it's more of a, "hey don't forget, brake wear!!" "Yes yes James.. we know!" :D

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this in this thread before but I wanted to see if the career mode team was thinking about implementing a feature where you can order/purchase new cars and spec them out like Test Drive Unlimited like being able to pick the interior color, paint colors & a set of factory rims i know it'd probably be a little hard to implement picking factory wheels but it'd be super cool to go to a dealership and build your dream spec :)

Hey Krallopian! I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to respond to everyone! This is the beauty of the Beamng Dev Team! I just want to ask a few things for career mode! :)

First off; Will we be able to open businesses or agencies in career mode eventually in multiple updates? I'm studying business and I'd love to have a business in career mode!

Second; Will we be able to eventually buy houses to keep our cars or garages around the city, so we have ability to have more cars around?

And lastly; I watch alot of street racers like Squeeze Benz, or Wheres981, etc. Once cops are added, will we be able to run away, and if we have our plates on, they could come to my house and arrest me? Or if we get caught running, for example I crash, we can get a huge fine? And maybe a Felony so we can't work at as many jobs as we could?

These are my suggestions! Again thanks for taking, your time to respond to everyone! Sorry if you don't understand somethings, English is not my first langauge haha. :D

can we have the option to install a mix of plastic and steel barrels to the bed of a d-series
and will the bulk materils allow for the framless dump trailer to have a use im imagining the ability to deliver sand and stuff from the quarry to sealbrik and if we do get the ability to move dry bulk goods such as sand and rocks could we use the bed of a pickup or is it only able to be moved with specialised equipment

2 extra things: I think I'd be cool if the d-series had the option of roof racks on the cab and or over the bed (like ones that you can put a cargo box or a beambox on) and with the stuntman missions I'd be super happy if my favorite scenario made it into the career mode I think that "Autobello Piccolina Showcase" would be a great fit for that career pathway :)

We love you James! Thank you so much for all of your time and effort that you put into this! I'm honestly thrilled about this next Career Labourer expansion. You guys keep coming up with some of the best gameplay ideas that I hadn't even thought about! Wish you the best
