Hey look, a special edition! By that, I mean "videos I downloaded before they were taken down". For this one, a video claiming that a large power outage was going to strike within 24 hours, by one of those channels that my dad would probably watch if it was on Facebook. Apparently the reasoning was that a few days prior, major social media networks had shut down, disguised as a test. (I don't use social media, but I'm sure I would've heard if that happened. I have no recollection of any social media shutdown, let alone one that was intentional, in October 2021.) There was no major power outage within 24 hours of this video going out, but apparently it landed enough views for YouTube to encode it in AV1. (Most videos only earn H.264, and if yours gets maybe 1,000 views, VP9. So my metric for if a video is popular enough is if YouTube encodes it in AV1, which usually happens with videos that get a million or more views, or is from a large channel.) That's quite alarming. The audio is just a voiceover of some... person. With a VERY awful microphone and/or recording system. (laptop + Windows microphone app, perhaps?) Video is just a slideshow of "real American things" (that is, by my dad's standards, which... you know what, that's a story for later), and the guy at the bottom right appears to just be a greenscreen of a generic business man speaking, repeating every ~70.5 seconds.
(So as not to make you think I deliberately dodge things: I answered the above question in the general discussion thread.) What a masterpiece this one is. This work of art was directed by Input Title. I think Input Title is the greatest director ever. What do you think? Why's Input Title not on the level of Hollywood yet???
"Not Available Anymore" Special Edition #2 I swear I'm not making this up. This is the strangest, funniest video I've ever found. (Actually, I'm debating that right now. There's this other one I found in 2020 that I just... I don't even want to try to explain.) This appears to be a video of a girl attempting to show off her dress or something... but for some reason, the text "Hsu hwbwhaolqoqowk" appears ~2.8 seconds in. SERIOUSLY, I DID NOT MAKE THIS. It's made even funnier by the fact that for no explainable reason, the Baby Shark song (remember when that was the weirdest thing kids were on about?) was added to the video, and then there's the title, which is just... who made this video? Who was it for? Actually, knowing that doesn't matter, because the mere existence of it is too much for me. I don't think a screenshot is enough for show, and since this video is not available on YouTube anymore, I've attached an encode of it that you probably will keep because... like... huh?
