ah, ok that makes far more sense (we've actually run our expedition on empty many many times, never had a problem as the reserve gas tank is actually pretty decent sized (and for the size of the expedition, it gets decent MPG as well))

you have a 2000 silverado 1500 don't you? you must be running special tires or something as our 1500 gets around the same if not more MPG than our expedition

You european can thank those massive gas prices on your tax happy governments.
    Ahh.
It's nice to live in a non restrictive nation.

Yeah, the tire treads are a bit more on the aggressive size so that hurts the mpg a bit. It also has the 5.3L V8 that guzzles gas like none other.

My boat has ran out of fuel in the middle of the lake before. The gas needle goes from 1/4th of the tank to 3/4 of a tank so it's hard to tell how much fuel we actually have in that thing. It just burns through gas like crazy. We can use up an entire 18 gallon tank of gas in 3 hours.

At $3 I take it it's closer to about $65 -$70? Not bad.

Gas prices here are ~2.45 a gallon.
I think they got down around 2.30, but came back up a little.
I guess it's nice. I don't drive, but I'd love to have them this low all through 2016 and 2017.
I'm sure that's when they'll shoot back up, though.

TBH I think Europeans just dislike most cars that aren't built in Europe, You even get that vibe watching TopGear.

It's about $3 last time I checked here. Today I saw it for like $2.70-80 or so in another town.

Picking one of the ugliest cars which also happens to be an uncommon car to represent Europe against one of the biggest American icons isn't the best way of going about things, just saying.

It'd be like saying "I'm from America but I'd rather take an Audi R8 over a Geo Metro". Of course you would, they're entirely different cars and one has a reputation for being bad.

I don't know about that, I'm European but I only prefer Japanese cars. In fact I dislike European cars, many of them are very ugly and are not really reliable. I've had 2 Toyotas and one Nissan and none of them had any problems. Couple of my friends have BMW's and they are always broken to shit. :D
    Okay, let's do this again

I would rather take his Thunderbird
    31986690003_large.jpg

Over this Citroen C6 any day

    (imported from here)

They are both just as common here where I live, the Citroen still more common though, since people here don't buy american cars that much so I can't really find a good comparison car.

My point still being that even though I'm from Europe, I don't hate American cars and I would rather take an American car over a European car almost always. (Japan still ftw.)

America and Europe both have great looking and well performing cars, and also ugly and slow ones. I still don't hate either of them :p

One thing I've noticed in the industry is the large brands (GM, Ford, etc) are making all of their cars the same globally. The differences are minute from an exterior standpoint.

For example, the Opel Vectra Gen2.

    In the US, it's a Saturn L-Series.

    Notice the similarities?

That's just GM rebadging for you.

But on these forums I definitely see an increased trend of americans hating euro cars rather than vice versaversa.
Oh, it is 100% not the case that american vehicles are too big for European roads. Saw a dodge ram import today, parked next to a long wheelbase ford transit. They were the same size. Yet transits were designed in UK for UK.

Yep I've seen a couple of dodge ram imports here. They look big but its mostly just their height. Wheelbase isn't crazy really.

    Guilty as charged.
It has nothing to do with where they're made. I just hate shitboxes.
I hate american shitboxes more than European shitboxes, actually.
    Chevrolet_Prizm_.jpg
    Actually that's a corolla.
It's a Chevy/Geo prism, but just a rebadged corolla pretty much.
That makes it ok. I'm much more accepting of Japanese shitboxes.

There we go. Now thats a repulsive car.

    lel

    it's true though

potato seems to absolutely despise anything economic (which as it happens europe seems to be where the most economical cars come from, since 'Murica is the land of 25mpg being considered good)
