Thanks Carlos!. I will be all over this in the next couple days (working endlessly it seems) and will report back.
Hey Carlos is it worth it to start a thread on this outside of the screens thread? I fired it up and it's awesome, found out my "tower of death vehicle ping pong" ramp is 980 feet tall....I had guessed about 1100 feet...awesome! Tried a level I'm working on and it appears the altimeter is referencing a set point that matches the Gridmap terrain level?. My level is about 300 feet lower than that, had to move the spawn sphere to were the heightmap loaded. None the less it still works even with that. I'll try to move the terrain back to the default Gridmap level to get an accurate elevation reading as It's quite the mountainous terrain and perfect for an altimeter. Thanks again for making this!, I can only imagine the awesomeness this will be on a 4096+ map where real landscape elevations can be accurately depicted.
OK!!!!!!!!!!!!! OT: Got all sportey with new bumper spoilers bumpers spoilers SPOILERS AND TAILGATE WIPERSSSSSSSSSSS Yeah, the spinzy whinzies on the tacho and speedo are actually there, you just.... don't get to see them too much. #CZECHDOMESTICMARKET BECAUSE EXPORT PLATES
Thanks for the comment! I'm thinking about creating a thread for it, I'll probably do. The altitude is measured in reference to a global spot that defines where all X Y Z coordinates are zero for the level. All static objects and everything else specify their coordinates in reference to that point. Gridmap happens to have it's ground plane at that center spot. Though, it's true that some maps don't do that and have it's terrain above or under this "global zero", so the altimeter reading might not seem correct. I've suffered this in many maps, for example Dry Rock Island's beach reads about 50 meters (iirc). I would look if there is anything I can do. In the meantime you can set your terrain's Z coordinate to 0. OT Screenshot: Who said raceways are only for cars?? Ok, I say it. Yep, they were right, it's practically impossible to take off there . Lesson learned, raceways are for cars, not for planes . Bye .
