According to google your GPU is better than mine and your CPU is about the same. I can play the game fine on 1920x1080 with high/medium settings.

Therefore I would have to guess that your resolution is causing the FPS drops.

Cod, mmm idk if that is an important note.. anyone on this forum can run those games at a very high setting... you should also check you're POST FX inside options.. SSAO can really destroy fps, also running normal meshes over high can give a reasonable fps increase without much downfall in visuals...

The 690 should run two full 1080p games of BeamNG at full settings, at the same time, in it's sleep.

Try turning off post fx. Your computer should be plenty powerful enough to run the game with ease.

Is BeamNG using any onboard graphics or alternate GPU? Hit CTRL+O when ingame and check the graphics tab.

The 780 Ti, 970 and 980 outperform it in 1080p and they are single GPU cards. And in 4K performance the R9 295X2 takes the crown. Gets a good 60-70 FPS in Crysis 3 maxed out, and the game is extremely biased towards Nvidia. Of course, it costs twice as much as dual 970's (and that's EVGA superextraoverclocked FTW edition), so it's pretty pointless buying one.

The GTX 690 was one hell of a card, but it's easily outperformed by modern GPUs. Still beats the Titan cards though, which are crippled by their horribly slow clock speeds and outperformed by a single 780 in anything but 4K.

thats because titans are nvidia's attempt at combining workstation card with gaming card

it failed horribly (as you can combine 2 STOCK/REFERENCE 760's and get more performance than a single titan, and it will STILL be cheaper)

The stable version has some stuttering issues period does it not? More to do with imposters or LODs popping in or something.

OP, we don't know what version you are running, and we don't know what your definition of stuttering/not smooth is. Once upon a time people believed anything over 30fps was fine, now people expect over 60 to call it smooth.

    Titan Black: $1300
    2x GTX 970 SSC: $700

And the 970s are much much better.

@OT: Disable the UI (Shift+U), it causes massive lag in the stable version.

The 690 is a dual GPU card.

Perhaps this could be an SLi issue?

Dual GPU =/= Two separate GPUs

Much like a dual core processor isn't two separate chips.

There was never any hope for your typo, really. There's nothing constructive I can post that hasn't already been said. More information would be beneficial. I know if there's a lot going on in terms of complex collision objects despite a 30fps framerate it can feel a lot lower due to some kind of lag. This happens on maps with a lot of trees and things, like the tropical island when you're hauling ass down a road. Is that what you're on about?
