I have a computer that I play Toontown on no problem (it’s an online game too so very intensive) yet somehow BeamNG (a non multiplayer game) can’t seem to manage to even spawn a truck for me let along drive around! This is horrible. Does anyone else have these issues? Maybe I didn’t do something right with the install.
Windows 11 -_- it’s definitely not my OS. Like I said I CAN PLAY EVERY OTHER GAME FINE but this game acts like I’m playing on a potato.
I'd try going back to Windows 10. Windows 11 is still a buggy mess and I had tons of issues when running BeamNG on it
Again, I’m trying to tell you other games play fine. Look at your computers specs, you somehow play beam on that? :/ yeah I believe it. Anyway, I have an Optiplex 9020 with 2 AMD Radeon R5-240 Graphics Cards and i7 4790 processor. 32gbs of RAM. 1TB SSD. This thing is a TANK --- Post updated --- Perhaps I’ll give this a shot, thanks
GPU is 11 years old, below min requirements (40% slower than GTX 550-ti) and doesn't have enough VRAM which will cause lots of stuttering in any recent 3D game. CPU 10 years old and barely meets min requirements + it only supports DDR3 RAM. Beam likes fast RAM and 3 is ancient at this point, even DDR4 came out 10 years ago. We're at 5 now. Your pc was amazing... 10 years ago. Now it's a potato. W11 is fine, doesn't matter.
I used to have a Radeon R5 330 It was absolute garbage. The rest of your system is OK, but I wouldn't call it a 'beast'.
This pc works fine and plays other games that have to go online and multiplayer no problem. I can even get onto 18 wheels of steel haulin with no issue which looks extremely similar to this game (maybe even the same developers?) All I know is somehow they have managed to make this game take way to many resources to play. Unsure why they would do that.
Lemme get this straight: you're name dropping 15-20 year old games as benchmarks, and are convinced that the most demanding, cutting-edge thing a game can do is 'have multiplayer?' I guess what I'm really asking is: how's 2008 treating you? Are you excited for the Beijing Olympics? You think this 'Obama' guy has the election in the bag? And did you catch the latest episode of 'My Name is Earl,' or do you just have it recorded on your TiVo? Spoiler: For real, though Sorry, man. I try to be helpful to new users, but this just stinks of being a troll. That your first message is a complaint that's too vague to really be considered a bug report doesn't help your case. I'm willing to consider I'm wrong, ofc
Try any 3D game released after ~2020 and you'll see. Steel haulin was made in 2006 and has nowhere near the same graphics, physics or requirements as Beam.
If you haven't already, I suggest you try Rigs of Rods. It's effectively the precursor to beamNG, it has a physics engine built on the same principles, it's open source and free to play, and it's more in-line with the era of your PC and the other games you play, so it might run better.
Since it‘s 'bout 10 years old, there is only one question for you: can it ran Far Cry at the moment? if it can and smoothly, BeamNG may worth a try if it can't,sadly, maybe it's time to let it rest and get yourself something better to connect(a.k.a,cloud gaming) or make it become sleeper(why, since this will make it become "The Gaming PC of Theseus" and you may have to face lots of technical difficulties)
They did that because they can't not do it. This game is a highly detailed physics simulation, not just a game. The number and complexity of complications that it completes 2000 times every second (if you're playing at 20 FPS or greater) as well as the amount of detailed 3D models tbat it has to render is something that we don't see in basically any other game, and it's because they can't afford to decrease either if they don't wish to decrease if they still wish to have a quality and accurate simulation. They've done a lot of work optimizing the game already, but your computer is more than a decade old in every way and it can't keep up with high intensity games anymore. It doesn't help that BeamNG (like 99% or other modern titles) can't utilize dual GPU setups, so you're only using one GPU of which two would still be mostly incapable of running the game.
