Do not bother, eesti pois. People here just don't understand anything, its the same type of sh... comments repeated and repeated and repeated.
Nice to see the imperial gauge added, yet I still can't get yellow rear plates to show up on the car. Guessing that's still yet to come in a future update, or...?
But why? It is NOT Lada. Think of it, like a different universe where LADA does not exist. This is authors imagination how/if imaginatory-soviet (not necessarily) would collaborate with Japanese manufacturer, taking its chasis and restyling it to a 'new' model under different brand, basically, badge engineering. By the way, I hesitated to make some comments what to do, due to the fact of such beggar-esque comments on repeated basis, but perhaps today I will have a look what might need some input (not necessarily LADA based vehicles), so it will be not a must, but just an idea as I respect all the done work and proper attitude to the lore quality. P.S. And I say that with a glimpse, that I am one of the rare LADA IRL owners.
It's just a badge lol, I remember one of my uncle had cream colored 2107 with 1500 side badge and I think that just would be a nice detail to mod (Lada in the end went to junkyard, floor stopped existing)
With some hundreds of kilometers tested, all is going good with this mod. Actually, in the later version, it more reminds me of Moskvich 2140, and some East German vibes somehow, which is a good thing and keeps things interesting. Next are some comments which, in my personal opinion, does not necessarily have to be made, but just a mild suggestion incase some updates are planned, what I think personally and why it would suit it. And just to be sure - it's not a complaint 1) The first thing I was trying to find visually was the crankstart hole. We are talking about imperial vehicle which has been 'modified' into TAZ to suit harsh soviet times, when starter motor was deemed an extra. Just saying, would fit the lore somehow, as most soviet cars had crank start hole until yay long time as compared anything from europe or USA. 2) We have to always remember that as in soviet and 'facelifting' of a quite old vehicle from 60s (miramar), usually it was done with rather simple methods, I believe TAZ follows this same path. One of the distinguishing elements of, unfortunately, luxury real-like-you-know-who-VAZ was early models with double lights aka the deluxe version, but inner housings of lenses had plastic not black, but rather silver-like, more grey, actually. However, it can be done properly, if the 3d mesh has dimensions, so it is rather difficult to implement by just coloring the part. Same here, additonally, the red dots on pic indicate what would suit here are hardcore silver metal screws (phillips screw) - because everything is put with not that finesse, but rather visible ways of connection, ease of use and simplicity as with most models from soviets. 3) We are again looking at cheap TAZ ways how to 'facelift' a model into 80s with Late model. What I first see is 2nd pillar painted in color, however, if it is painted black - you have cheap way to look-a-like bigger larger window area and somewhat of 80s chic. Just a thought and simple way. 4) Mudflaps, I believe they could be connected with something on the other side, seems like the other connecting point is missing and seems to be floating. Since it is TAZ and your interpretation, it can be something brutal, just two strong metal wires basically, since we know TAZ lore would not spend too much time thinking how to implement such facilities. Would not mind to stamp some TAZ letters into rubber as well. 5) Deluxe interior. To feel more 'deluxe', some peeling off fugazzi wood veneer would do the job. just the delux versions and somehow I think the knob for ventilation reminds me of too late technology for TAZ, but rather a faux chrome round plastic button perhaps. Even more wilder would be some 'deluxe' steering wheel for the upscale feel. Also, early soviet vehicles until mid 80s had window wipers out of chromed/silver-ish material. Like I said, I don't know, these are just thoughts, don't see anything that would need any extra changes. But in anycase, perhaps I can even help you with 3d meshes (knobs, perhaps unique 3d radio I could make for this case, 'delux' steering) and textures of what I just mentioned, instead of rambling, if, of course, it is needed.
In theory yes, you are right. I find beamng modding rather difficult, as compared to other games, so perhaps at this stage I'll pass, so my comment can be ignored - just like that
I’ve never tried modding in this game (except for some crappy configs), but from what I’ve heard it’s quite hard
A rather simple suggestion, how about a skin that combines the rusty skin with the mismatch front skin? Would be great for pure clunkers
im not 100% sure on exactly how real and replicatable this is but it seems like removing parts off these cars in career mode might bork the save, preventing you from properly switching between and modifying the other cars on that save, seems like it happened to me + 2 others in a random discord; might be worth looking into
I havent played career all that much, but from what I have seen, the mod works fine with career. Even if there are such errors like that, I cannot do anything about it since career in BeamNG is still early access and it may not work properly at times due to that. I have made quite a few modded TAZes in career and it works fine. --- Post updated --- 1) I wouldnt really want to make a seperate fascia for that, as all models currently share it. Though I understand what you mean. 2) The "deluxe" version of the early Mir is supposed to be a mix between a 2106 and a 2101, took a while to come up with a good design and having it chrome with light seperation like that will just make it look too much like a 2103. 3) Cant really say much about this but I much rather would have it painted. 4) That I can agree with, I did not really think that anyone would be looking inside the wheel well. Though adding some little metal rods would be simple enough. 5) I had wood in the interior when I first started the mod, but I thought having wood would be too luxurious for something like that. Though the wiper frames are chrome/silver on all the early variants with the exception of the wiperblades themselves.
Another small idea - what about a rose shifter ornament? Those were a popular "tuning" atribute for Ladas back in the Soviet days
