In my opinion, the split screen could facilitate the game, for example, playing with 2 people, because on complex maps that have a lot of large objects, it's hard to see something when the other person is a little further away from me.
Agreed, I also don't like that above camera angle that multiseat has. Although it would take more computing power, I'm sure most mid-range and high end PCs could handle it. Wonder why it hasn't already been done.
I could be imagining this, but I believe the devs have said due to the engine they use, split screen is impossible. This may be outdated information, though.
It is possible currently, the vehicle editor used to have a double render. Though it didn't work properly for people with low end GPUs, so we probably won't see split screen until that issue is fixed.
due to beamng destroying gpus and cpus its probably too performance intensive to be considered + the amount of people that would use it would be minimal
I know that this thread is a bit old now... I'm curious if split screen is more feasible now that VR (WIP) is available. Could the two rendered scenes be used to follow two cars on one monitor (instead of rendering for two VR lenses following only one car)? As you mentioned, Agent_Y, it is currently possible; could it be a WIP feature just like the VR sometime down the road? By the way, this game is the best, and the developers are even better!
like theres no way the devs were like "hmm how should we implement local multiplayer" then chose multiseat over splitscreen
