Trying to create a part from scratch. I brought in a model, converted to jbeam, and when I go to export I get an error. I've tried creating a new jbeam, saving to an existing jbeam, importing a jbeam first and saving to the same or new file. Any thoughts?
Hmm, well as it says, did you move the imported JBeam file after you imported it into Blender? If that's not the issue, could you please list the exact steps you did to get this error?
Ok fix has been released https://github.com/BeamNG/Blender-JBeam-Editor/releases/tag/v0.1.2 I broke it when I tried fixing the previous bug for the 0.1.1 update, but everything should be fine now
I have these suggestions: 1. Add edits to beam and triangles 2. Add text editing 3. Let users choose "Export Changed Parts" or "Replace All" 4. Let users choose the size and color of the names of nodes by themselves. And they can be hidden --- Post updated --- bugs let me lost a lot of work, my jbeam always can't export so I think the issue with file export needs to be solved as soon as possible
You can do text editing with notepad. Just import your changes into Blender to edit there afterwards. Could you tell me the steps on how you use the plugin for it to not be able to export. Could you also send me the jbeam file you are trying to edit to see if I can reproduce the error (you can PM me if you want). It works just fine for me.
I don't know if I am doing something wrong, but when I have the JBEAM file in Blender, it crashes the app when I open edit mode for the object. Is there any way to fix that?
What blender version do you have? This addon only supports the latest version of Blender (3.6.x). I had another user have the same issue so probably its this.
bugs let me lo a lot of work, and I think the issue with file export needs to be solved as soon as possible I was making doors. The door RL and the door RR are in the same file, but the editor can only export one door. I can't export the left after I export the right. I'm not sure if this problem was caused by something else in between, but I think it wouldn't have happened if I had the option to export both doors at the same time or choose to overwrite the entire file --- Post updated --- btw I think text editing is very necessary to add. Not only can we choose how we like to edit, but we can also find problems in time.
I just tried it with the pickup_doors_F.jbeam and I can export both doors with no problem. You need to select left door then export and select the right door then export. Like I said you can use notepad afterwards to edit the JBeam manually. Or you mean something else by text editing like being able to edit the JBeam in Blender and using notepad at the same time?
