As a placeholder, you could use the Autobello's B4 engine sounds, though modified a bit. Has the sort of clattery noise that an old car would have. Just a thought for if you wanna release it as a beta while you look for a better sound (or one that was made by an active person)
where progress, I've been looking for an old car on beamng for some time already. This looks promising
It is basically finished, it just has a couple of problems: 1) the aforementioned engine sound thing 2) one of the lua scripts (chains or belts) causes a horrible lag, but only when other traffic is present, not on its own 3) haven't jbeamed all the belts yet. it's a very boring process.
Well I've said before, maybe I could cook up some sort of placeholder sound using vanilla soundfiles As for the lag, that might be overly complex jbeams or some unoptimized script that could be simplified in some way, or maybe just high poly count And for the belt jbeams, I wish you luck lol
I think there might be some conflict with the scripts. It needs more testing, but also I'm in my last year PhD, so... I can WIP beta release it and let ppl play with it in the meantime. It's drivable.
Would love that lol, plus people can give some constructive feedback if they try the thing out themselves Good luck on your PhD!
Just because I could and I had nothing else to do, I decided to make a knockoff Velo in Automation and experiment with engine sounds. The B4 sound from the Piccolina with a totally unmuffled exhaust works really well for a sort of big single cylinder placeholder
Looks nice. And here is the sound, if anyone is interested. Coincidentally , I recorded this video some days ago.
