What's the deal with the T-Series Expansion Pack? No mod page & no forum thread can be found...

Beamng has removed the T series mod due to it overwriting game files. Until today this has not been an issue and they removed it without warning.

We would like to remind and warn all creators out there such as brake glow etc etc these mods most likely will be removed with 0 warning if they resume their course as they have done with the T series

Due to numerous complaints from the community, the mod was taken down by BeamNG. After in-house discussions today, we have decided to make a separate repo version which is very much stripped of features and a full version which is and will always be available for free.

    So,
BeamNG website will get Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack: Lite Edition
Our website will get the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack as you and we know it.

Link to the full version: https://www.gtgmodsteam.com/gavril-t-series-expansion-pack
In addition we have released an add-on to it today.

    Hope this clears things up.

I see why this rule is in place, but bruh. Couldn't the mods here just put a warning on mods like this? It does replace some files and it most likely will break stuff in the future, but it's one of the bigger mods out there. I believe it wouldn't take long for whoever approves mods to actually test them instead of just looking at some screenshots (and we've already had some dubious quality mods approved anyway) and press approve if a mod passes basic automated tests.

Does it have something to do with that furry skin pack from earlier today? lol

In my professional opinion, if BeamNG doesn't want modders to use a particular feature in their game, then they shouldn't add or enable that feature in the first place. In my personal opinion, I think that specific guideline makes no sense as it goes against the very point of modding a game.

I do not know at all.

Geez, one of the best mods for the game & they got rid of it because people don't understand how to not use something if they don't like it? Were they just jealous that your mod was more popular than their base T-Series?

In either case I don't think either is good enough reason for removal.

Perhaps? Nevertheless, they allowed the mod to be for exactly 3 years, and then suddenly during Sunday night I received a message from CK saying that due to numerous complaints of a potentially game breaking mod they have taken it down. I am personally pretty pissed off about it as the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack is the only mod of its kind and it feels like they're trying to kill it.

Nevertheless, we as an organization who cares for our community will not be bullied or the like and thus will find a way to compromise but not to compromise (loopholes :p) Our way of doing that is crunching time to get a "repo-friendly" version of the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack out called the Lite Edition which should both satisfy BeamNG and those who always hated on the mod for what they saw as flaws.

Nah, what you need are semis like ours

P.S. I'd be surprised if I'm not banned in a few hours.

I've asked before & I'll ask again, this time I'd like to hear from those complaining:

What exactly is the issue? For what reason, with this mod active, would you even want the vanilla T-Series for? There's not a single thing it offers that could make me want to use it, again, with this mod active.

As for it being potentially game breaking, that sounds more like the T-Series addon from AR162B, I haven't had any issues with the Expansion Pack breaking the game.

*Kuch kuch until BeamNG updates LUA then everything shits the bed :kekw: And yes the mod does overwrite vanilla parts, but so do other mods like brake glow.

But then again... If it does break, just disable the mod and wait for an update to come out that fixes it...

Oh yea, I forgot about that, but that can happen to any mod so it seems irrelevant to me. Personally, I have no issue with it overwriting vanilla parts, and again I will say if people don't like it they don't have to use it.

i feel like BeamNG is moving towards newer "protocols" when i comes to making mods. like it shouldn't overwrite anything, but if it does, it would require an edit to the jbeam's name (like instead of overwriting the "semi.jbeam" file, it should changed to "semi_gtg.jbeam) to avoid conflicts.

or better yet, just include the additions and just reference the vanilla assets.

@JoshD GTG Modding Team International and BeamNG have found a compromise. It appears mods such ours is allowed on the forums, but not on the repo.

We're currently attempting to revive the forum thread but things take some time.

Point of the story is, our plan is to have the repo page advertise the full version but with a very clear disclaimer that says the repo version is the Lite Edition, but a link to the forum page will be there which'll get a clickable text with the direct download link from our website.

Yep, let's just hope that BeamNG can revive the forum page from the dead first (not even I can access it). It had a lot of critical information on it and stuff.

I just would like to remind you all here that every mod on repository has to follow the same rules. If we, repository moderators won't notice something, all users are able to report said mod to us. Then we check it thoroughly to confirm the issue. After that, we set the mod to the pending author state and contact the author of modification about the issue, explain the problem, and show how to fix it or avoid similar issues, 90% of the time you can avoid overwriting anything, it just requires a little bit more effort. It's a standard process for every mod upload, and it's been the same in the case of this mod. We are not always able to catch every mod update or file, so we appreciate community help in case of our mishaps.
If you are unable to fix your mod to comply with repository rules, you are always free to upload such mod on forums. That's always been the case.
If you can't find which file overwrites something you can use an in-game feature that's in the Repository -> Mod Manager menu where you can just press a single button List possible broken mods, to get a list of files that are overwriting official content. For more complicated problems there is always output in the game console.

Nothing to worry about, that will remain on the site. We currently can't support it very well as we other things to work on right now, the next update it'll receive is a remaster. :D

So I downloaded the mod from the gtg website but the game keeps telling me I need the gtg commons mod, but its already there. I even uninstalled it and redownloaded it again, but its still telling me the same thing. Any ideas or help?
