0.29 Discussion Thread

Some traffic seems to spawn inside fences all crippled after the update.

Update is amazing! Thank you! Also the new mission type for trash pickup is really cool. I can't wait to update my Gambler map with it.

Once the contest is over/judged I should have another 20 or so scenarios for my map and I can finally add in actual Gambler500 vehicles instead of the demolition derby vehicles. Super excited. This update gave me a ton more inspiration for my map.

 

Thanks for replying to me, it is important to me that it has been fixed at least internally as it bugged me way to much.

 

Noticed a couple of bugs with the Street Tuned variant of the Piccolina: it has an open rear differential and the 6-Speed Manual shifter starts on 3rd gear when you put it on 1st gear. It misses the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th gear.

Exactly. The Covet especially already has the parts to make the EUDM versions: the JDM head-/taillights, which have no marker lights, and the metric gauges. It's only missing an EUDM rear bumper!

 

i find it crazy how theres already some videos calling the update "not great" or "mid"

 

Some youtubers are never appreciating the hard work of the devs

 

I have a suggestion to add a props category in the top bar as it will make searching easier.

 

I might be a little late to the AMA, but we've seen tire thermals teased a couple times, where is the team on that in terms of progress? Are we going to be seeing teasers within the year (or so), or are we still a ways out?

 

Pretty disappointed that the Grand Scavenger is basically just a new derby variant. Was hoping for lifted suspension, 4WD, or even just a skid plate.

It is the most realistic Gambler 500 configuration, though. Most Gambler 500 configurations aren't super crazy.

Is anyone else having problems when spawning traffic?
I can drive around without any problems, but the traffic wont start and the loading screen doesnt go away..

I was not expecting the 0.29 update to drop right around the time many Americans are celebrating the Fourth of July. But I'm not complaining when it means the new official minivan, the Soliad Lansdale, is finally here to satisfy our MPV cravings! The Gambler 500 collaboration is also interesting; hopefully, we will be able to get more awesome collaborations as with the Automation partnership a few years ago

That being said, I do have just a few minor complaints to report regarding the Lansdale. Usually, the descriptions for the factory configurations specify if they are either the pre-facelift models or the facelift ones. While that is the case for most of them (see the 3.3 Sport S as an example), the facelift 3.8 Sport SE AWD doesn't indicate it as such.


A few people did bring this one up, but Forest Green for the Lansdale is more of a brown color. Although, I honestly find this brown paint color to be appropriate for a minivan, so maybe consider keeping that particular hue under a different name, while also properly implementing the Forest Green paint color as seen on other vehicles such as the Wendover?


That's pretty much all I have to say for this update. As BeamNG.drive is about to mark its 10th anniversary since the very first alpha public release back in August 2013, I still remain fascinated at how much has changed in a decade. Thank you for keeping us interested with the game, and also for reading our countless amounts of feedback and suggestions

 

The rally config has the carpet headliner equipped, causing z-fighting

Regardless, the stripped interior actually has the roof panels built in, so even if you select the stripped headliner under the solid roof part there's still duplicated bits of the roof.



This bolt that's re used all over the gambler 500 van has some funky textures (uv packing overlap?)

There's a few reasons for that. Partly because saying controversial/surprising things gets interactions, which are good for social media algorithm. Partly because as the community grows, the pool of people who have something negative to say just gets larger. I can't remember last time an update was universally liked, and a lot of people expect every update to be a behemoth like 0.27 was (even though the devblog explocitly stated not to expect updates that big going foward)
