Oh, you're gonna be the first to allow us to overstress the airframe? YES! I love this. - - - Updated - - - When you crash something with a ladder chassis the beams that make up it's length crumple and bend out of the way, they do not shrink through compression. I'm wondering if you've simply allowed the beams to compress in an impact because the way the truck has deformed... it doesn't look like the chassis has bent out of the way while retaining it's original length. Say nothing of the clipping. Second, I'm unsure about whether or not Gabester's truck chassis is realistically strong. I know its oddly springy and bends into weird shapes in a crash... but crash tests with semi chassis vs cars show that these chassis are incredibly strong... and why not, its made out of the same sort of thing you make buildings from. Any crashes of a semi truck where I see significant damage, its always something that's overidden the chassis in some way thats caused the damage.
That was my goal to try and get it to break up . If I let go of the accelerator the plane would have broken apart from trying to lift up at that speed though. And you mean kind of like this?
I see what you mean on the ladder chassis and 100% agree that the T-75 needs help. All I'm doing is adjusting deforms for the hood/cab/frame to see what happens. Those screens show a significant increase in frame values and likewise a drop in cab/hood values (clipping). I feel the front end, and in particular the engine and it's mounts, are way to rigid, the frame behind it all as well. I think we sometimes lose grasp of how fast we are travelling in this game and believe things need to be a bit more realistic in scale. My goal is simply to have the frame much stronger and everything else absorb impact forces, leaving the frame as the last thing to deform in most instances. Keep in mind I'm not a scientist or a physicist or Carl Sagan's orphaned, illegitimate son. I'm a dude having fun.
Way to ignore what everyone just said to you Hati. You really do need to stop posting that kind of shit.
I genuinely didn't realize it was roleplay, fine. I had a sperg moment and now there's people throwing spaghetti at me. Why/How would I respond to that? I'm disappointed by roleplay and the man actually has a car it turns out. Lesson learned -- grown men publically roleplay about cars on the internet and I should have expected it. What do you want me to say? Sorry? I'm honestly not sorry because now its funny. There was a more worthwhile conversation about the deformation of the T75's chassis rails happening, and somehow the B-25 was also more compelling than Tom666's butthurt. Go make a thread specifically about your hurt feelings and we can talk about them over there rather than here. - - - Updated - - - Anyway, so the softer parts of the truck would kinda get squished up against and peeled off the truck's frame? That would be kinda neat
Oh hey guys, about this Hati and tom 'butthurt'. I thought I would tell you that we don't care. Take it somewhere else, please.
EDIT: I think I'll say something ontopic instead Working on something, and if you're eagle eyed you might notice something about the differences in the way they've deformed. I'm sick of russian mods screwing up crash behaviour of known cars. I'm wondering if I can go crazy with the node/beam editing and get this civic to match its real life crash test videos. Impact is 80mph. Node/beam editing is a headache but I do enjoy the way you can make small changes and completely change the behaviour of a car.
