As the title suggests, with the (relatively) recent addition of functional odometers, I've been pondering at how high you could make them go. Anybody have any screenshots of high mileage cars in BeamNG?
So I decided to perform a little test on this because I don't think this has been really ever thought out before. I used drowsysam's dyno with a Grand Marshal as the test car. Since there isn't unlimited fuel in the game, I set it up next to a station pump with an auto clicker to refuel. The car begins to lose stability at around 110 MPH after a few hours so I left my secondary laptop on with the car running at around 77 MPH instead (the top speed of the car on the dyno). After a while, the miles began to accumulate. 12 hours later and the car is at 813.2 miles. I'm sure there's an easier method to this, but I feel like this is slightly more realistic.
I sometimes prop the car up with the nodegrabber. They tend to overheat at full throttle so I would put the front end in a creek to keep it cool (but not hydrolocking ofc). Could never refuel easily that way though
I should've thought about that from the start, ugh. I wanted to keep the car relatively drivable but it would take way too much time. The car got up to around 2000 ish miles before I reset it and changed the setup. I used the global vehicle strength mod to keep the wheels from exploding. 560 MPH x 24 hours is 13,440 miles. After a week, the car should have around 94k on the odometer. If the game stays stable enough, it would take around 3 months to hit 1 million miles. I feel like this is such a pointless thing to do but I guess I could say I'll be the first to have a car with that many miles on BeamNG .
Yeah that would have worked with infinite fuel, but like what was stated earlier, there are no refueling points and keeping the vehicle stationary would be most ideal.
Hopefully it can stay stable at those speeds. Worste comes to worse youll have to lower it I guess. I have always wanted to see a large mile count on these cars though lol. I wish they accumulated as you drove them, even after respawning or changing varients. (sorta like the crown vic mod?)
It has been almost 24 hours and the car has crossed 10,000 miles without any issue. Looks like the next goal is 100,000?
Looks like the game's UI decided to break over the span of a week causing any clicks to no longer function. Car got up to 77,942 miles before running out of gas.
I will try to break the record on a etk 800 series sedan with 230 avg top speed btw this will be on km bcs im european i will keep this updated first 5k
