people think beamng is all cpu but it's actually really heavy on ram and cpu. I could do more ai but at the moment I am bottle necked by my gpu now.
I thought so too, which is why I got the (second) best Intel CPU and only 32GB of ram. Thanks for that original post, I ordered more ram on that same day. Got two 32 sticks (64 extra total), so I should have about 96GB of ram total by next week.
ok I tried it. (there are only 99 cars due to setting restrictions) this is how far a line of 100 cars took
Wait, really? I thought the 13900k was the best one and the 12900k was the second! I've lied to myself. Edit - Forgot about the AMD processors...
i considered doing this... and i regret it. (used Vehicle Group Manager in world editor) (the simplified physics option is not on.) the cars disappear in the fog lol surprisingly useable with pretty good FPS out of beamng drive app, like in google, ect
I got curious about this, so I tried it with my PC(specs: AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900X, NVIDIA RTX 3060 12G, 16GB of DDR4 RAM). Ran the game in safe mode to avoid mods slowing the game down and chose "High" graphics preset as I feel like that would probably be the most commonly used option(?). Since I have a 1080p screen the game was running in 1080p at the highest. I got roughly 10 FPS with 99 traffic cars active, 20 FPS with physics paused. Surprisingly I did not seem to run out of RAM. Also loading times were surprisingly good too, considering the lack of pre cache due to using safe mode and I was recording to the same(only) SSD that the game and OS were running from.
AMD Ryzen 9 7950x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 from MSI 32 GB Ram DDR5 But honestly I expected more FPS xD
DAMN, you have the ultimate setup. I'm shocked that the FPS is so low considering the nearly top-end specs. Maybe you need more ram? If you go further up, I had a convo about how ram is pretty important for beam... no guarantees, but I think that may be your problem. I got myself a bit more ram to see if that'll improve anything.
Yes, I was going to buy more ram, but overlooked the fact that I only bought 32 ram when I bought the PC. I will definitely upgrade it though. I will test it again though when I have more ram
Same here, good to see I'm not alone on that. I did research online and found that 32GB is enough for most games. Then I found out that BeamNG isn't 'most games'. I'll do the same, currently waiting for it's delivery.
Just curious, what were your graphics settings at? This is my results with only 32 GB ram. The 64 I ordered recently arrived, I'll throw that on here when I put it into my PC. Usual FPS on Utah, Ultra, Reshade, No Traffic. (average of 60 FPS) Tried it again 100 cars total, 8 pooled, same stuff graphics-wise. Unplayable. (Average of around 6 and a half FPS. Basically a slideshow). --- Post updated --- So I've done it. 96 GB Ram. 2 FPS improvement. Worth it. It'll be more helpful with regular amounts of cars.
I report back with my issue (I think)! I'll have to overclock my cpu. Issue is 1080-1440p, the CPU bottlenecks. I need to use 4k. 1080p 4k Overclocking the cpu will make it even better. I've been low on time lately, but I'll try all of this and see the results sometime in the next week or so.
lol crazy to see yall get 100 fps with 60 ai cars, i have a 3060 and a r5 3600 and barely get 45 - 50 fps on wcusa with 5 cars + mine, there has to be something wrong with my pc.
