    Yeah, that's lazy!!
Also, since you mentioned VATS, car alarms could also be implemented along with horns blowing, lights flashing and door locking pins going up and down, with the appropriate sound to boot (and the doors actually being locked/unlocked and/or locking while the car is moving, a feature some cars have IRL)!

The sport spoiler causes the Legran's trunk to only open a little, but not all the way.

The new Lansdale has made me realize we should have some awkward, cheaply added-on Euro compliant taillights and rear fogs for the Italian market LeGran.

The sport automatic cluster with PRNDL indicator is still missing since the remaster, too. The column shifter model with a tachometer has no gear indicator.

Any ideas on the specifications of the engines? The model of the 4cyl seems to be an OHV judged by the model, which replicates the GM 2.5 Iron Duke. But the displacement numbers(2.2/2.5)reminds me of the Chrysler 2.2/2.5, which is a SOHC engine. Given LeGran is based on both GM and Chrysler shitboxes, I wonder which engine does the Bruckell/Soliad took the reference on, and whether the 4cyl is a pushrod or an OHC.

I believe the Bruckell 2.2/2.5 I4s are pushrod-OHVs, since 92hp/165Nm for the 2.2 and 101hp/175Nm for the 2.5 are downright anemic numbers. SOHC heads would certainly offer higher numbers.
    The 3.3/3.8 V6 are certainly pushrod-OHVs though.

Why is there no SE I4 Wagon config? I am asking because the saloon and estate body styles don't seem to really have the same amount of trims (i.e. the facelift wagon has an SE I4 model, but the facelift saloon does not). Sorry if this was poorly worded.

For better or worse, the devs do this to reduce config spam in the vehicle selector. Not with every car, but with a lot of them. I do consider it somewhat annoying, because it makes it hard to figure out which versions canonically "would" exist in-universe, but apparently too many configs is a problem or was at one point.

I do get them doing it with some vehicles, for example if they made every variant of the d-series, that would be approximately 533 different configs.

And there's a part of me - the part that still hasn't figured out that 28 is past time to be doing stuff like this - that would still try to make multiple customized variants of all of them. (But then I remember that with BeamNG's customization still in an early-access state, they would all be mostly the same.)

I think that's the hidden benefit of having things like alternate body kits and spoilers that look different but function similarly, along with more complex engine tuning: they allow more variety in terms of what the AI opponents drive, while still allowing their cars to look somewhat reasonable. Bot cars are my favorite detail in every single game that has them pre-customized instead of just randomized.

The LeGran does have a serious problem even after the remaster:

The engines need NA tuning options, and more powerful forced induction. The LeGran, particularly with AWD, IRS, and racing suspension, is a fine chassis in desperate need of more power, and GM's force-fed 3.8L is a powerhouse in real life. The maybe 330HP you can get from the Beam version, if you exploit the way rev limiters and superchargers interact in this game, is just not enough. At least let us 4.4L swap it or something. (Assuming it would fit)

I agree with you, the 3.8 V6 (and all of Bruckell's engine lineup of that time, for that matter) certainly needs some Stage-1/-2/-3 Performance Long Blocks, like the 4.4 V8 has. With the Stage-2 Supercharger, the Race Exhaust and the Heavy-Duty Long Block (to be able to withstand the torque, or else it blows up), the 3.8 makes 313hp/486Nm - verified by the Torque Curve UI App. It certainly could be producing at least 350hp with the Stage-1 Performance Long Block, the Race Exhaust and the Stage-2 Supercharger.
As for induction, it could also have a Stage-3 Supercharger, again like the 4.4 V8 has.
As for the Performance Long Blocks themselves, yes, they can stand on their own for NA tuning the 3.8 (as proven again and again by all other engines in BeamNG), but this means that a Race Intake must be included too, for better airflow. And none of the Bruckell engines of that era has a Race Intake, the uppermost in NA tuning comes from the Sport Intake.

The 4.4 V8 does fit, since it's comprised of two 2.2 I4s around the same crankshaft and the 2.5 I4 is the widest transverse engine of the lot. But I'm curious to see the 3.8 V6 being turbocharged and turned lengthwise, for some other Midsize application (and, hopefully, since BeamNG begins to be able to create its own engine sounds now, with the appropriate sound and rev limit on all Bruckell models, as we've discussed before).

This is actually useful to know in another way; if the 2.5 I4 is wider than the 2.2 I4, that would mean it's a different engine design, not (as I originally assumed) a variant of the same family - makes sense when comparing to GM engines of the time, but not from an in-universe perspective. Do the 3.3 and 3.8 have the same disparity?

And also, if the 4.4L V8 is just a doubled-up 2.2L I4, that means that Bruckell could at least theoretically have a modern-ish 5.0L V8 somewhere that we haven't seen yet. 1990s muscle car when?

As for the power output of the supercharged V6, I could swear I've got more out of it by messing with the rev limiter - a quirk of superchargers in this game is that increasing the rev limit seems to increase boost and thus power through the entire rev range. So for example, if you have a supercharged engine with a 6000RPM rev limiter, and you change that to 7000RPM, the engine will then make more power at 5000RPM than it did with the lower limiter. With a maxed-out 3.8L LeGran, setting the adjustable rev limiter to the highest allowed value of 7500RPM gives 334HP; with my usual setting of 6800 for this build, it gets 324. HD internals can withstand more (and that nitrous is still barely enough to get it over 160MPH)

With GM being GM, practically anything could be made from this engine family. The wiki pages for the various cast iron block I4s, V6s and V8s used by GM from the 70s to the 2010s could mean practically anything Bruckell or Soliad branded could be made. Even an Aussie car like the Commodore could be made from it.

not sure where you're getting the idea of the 2.2 and 2.5 being different sizes, they both use "legran_engine_i4" as their mesh, which makes sense as they'd use the same bore spacing, and wouldn't need entirely different crankshafts, camshafts, manifolds, cylinder heads, etc.
    upload_2024-2-26_21-45-28.png upload_2024-2-26_22-3-8.png
As you can see, with the V8 shown orange and the I4 shown black, position adjusted so the bellhousings line up, the engines are about bang-on the same width.

the V8 theoretically isn't much bigger than the I4 or V8, and in fact, when lined up with the I4's bellhousing, it does fit:
    upload_2024-2-26_21-55-42.png upload_2024-2-26_21-56-9.png
It's incredibly tight, but so is the stock I4 engine, so it theoretically would be possible.
