I am the author, nobody else in this thread is. lets say you set up a flash game. You were happy with it in its hay-day, and it performed well, but now that flash is dead you've moved onto greener pastures and a more interesting and better project using what you learned in your original flash game. Say someone comes along and decides to 'revive' your old flash game as a simple desktop application. They've taken the core functionality and such, but because they are inexperienced or lazy (or both), have decided against at the bare minimum, reviving your old game to its former glory. instead, they've set up a janky, husk of your old game in the hopes of riding on the wave of success it had when it was new, once again. You catch wind of this, and gently direct people to your new project that you firmly believe is a logical evolution of your old flash game, but much more polished, no longer bound by low quality spaghetti code, etc. But people refuse to listen to you, and insist on using this janky desktop port of your old, long-since-dead flash game. Obviously, you get upset because people are illogically latched to this old game, and a shitty port of it at that, when your far greater new project exists. that is exactly where i am with WBIMP vs. KLJP. WBIMP was good in its hay-day, and taught me a lot of what i know about modding, but its so violently outdated and just bad. and the supposed "revives" of it are like pumping air into the lungs of a rotting corpse. its over 70% non-functional id guess, extremely buggy (now more-so than ever), and riddled with compatibility issues. there is a STRONG, NON-ZERO chance that it might clash with KLJP. i doubt it, but i also am not sure because KLJP was originally built on WBIMP. Feel free to make your own, personal fixes of WBIMP. I will not overreach and police that. It's not my place to do so, and it would be disingenuous to attempt to enforce something so ridiculous. I specifically do not want any PUBLIC distributions of any "revives," for the reasons given above and below. all this to say, i am the author, its my and my teams 'intellectual property', none of us want to see it revived (beyond the specific bodystyles ive EXPLICITELY given different members of my team the permission to revive properly). at the bare minimum, its disrespectful. And im more-so saddened to learn that someone went out of their way to go against what ive been VERY vocal about, and upload their ""revive"" on modlands. Im not an angry person, or a spiteful one at that. I just dont want people to use whats simply no longer good, for many legitimate and objective reasons. It's shit like this that discourages me from bothering with modding in the future. I've got a full-time job, bills to pay, and a life to live. Please refrain from taking modders and their efforts for granted.
Did you even read what he said at all? Seems like not Everyone on this thread is so entitled for some reason, why do they want such a terribly outdated mod so badly, all the "fixes" I know of work by just deleting half of the broken content which is not a fix at all
Are people asking the author for a fix? no. Are people begging for a fix? no. Are people Looking for fixes, because they're interested in using the mod? yes. Literally, how is this entitlement? Also, WBIMP is a generally big config pack with all sorts of cars(convertible moonhawk, grand marshal wagon, etc.), and KLJP is a pack focused only on Japanese cars. I don't see any similarity between these at all. If pumping oxygen into a rotting corpse makes its heart reactivate, that still revived the dead person.
Just read the rules lol. If the author doesn't want people to publish fixes for a mod, then you don't. It's as simple as that. Have you never heard of the word "consent" or what?
In that care WBIMPs corspe says Besiders, every signle aspect of wbimp can be found somewhere else. There is mods for convertible moonhawks, wagon Grand Marshals and Vivaces. Wbimp has no content you cant get today in higher quality. Except the 200nx but that is for the better
Looks like you’re new to the forums, what you just did was bump a thread. Basically it brings an old thread to the top. And a lot of users get mad over this. I’m not mad, just a little heads up but I do have to agree from the pictures it looked cool
