Remade I-Series Gauge Cluster from scratch Might be trying to move Odometer, dunno if I'll be successful. --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- Glowmaps ^ --- Post updated --- Metric Gauges --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- Resized the Tachometer on Imperial Gauges to match adjusted KM/H Techometer. I plan to redesign the Km/h speedometer again later.
Side note: I will be adding Headlights to the I-Series Racecar configurations. Came up with a much more productive and creative solution to adjustable Ackermann which will allow more control, yet fewer parts to deal with it. Allowing me to get this stuff on more cars quicker with higher usability and better quality. On the Wide/Loose rack the adjustment will be bigger with more range as it takes more to feel it, but it allows about as much control as you could desire out of a setup with wider Ackermann angles. On the Tight/Narrow rack you'll have fewer adjustment ticks with tighter adjustments that are indeed, very, very small.. but each 1-2 ticks makes a surprisingly significant difference to feel.. allowing for pretty good adjustment within reason for a rack of this nature. - Racing racks need further development, but overall I think I'll probably just apply the same concept there with even smaller, tighter adjustments on the very shallow Ackermann angles found on such racks. As for Drifting, it's very possible, far better here then stock racks.. but if you're expecting high wheel angles, I sadly have no found a way to achieve such a thing, one day I might look into it further but for now expect max wheel locks between 40-50Degrees... depending on the stability of the car's rack under stress. 60-85 Degrees is simply not possible with my current understanding of things. However these racks feel miles better for casual drifting when tuned correctly then BeamNG's racks IMHO. But yeah, this news means that I can churn out better content, at a faster pace.. literally killing two birds with one stone, better quality and production speed. I'm a very happy blob indeed. --- Post updated --- Expect the next update to focus on bringing more unique content, and bringing the standards of quality way, way up... in due time.
Still working on gauges, too many errors I wasn't happy to settle for previously. So I'm rebuilding each gauge with an even higher standard of quality. --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- Switched out old ugly 7K for my own interpretation of a 6.5K Gauge
Updated RK's Engines has broken my configurations. If you wish to downgrade your RK's Engines to fix my mod you can do so here The other option is to add the "Free-Tune or Performance ECU and you might have to add back "Customizable Ignition" to any vehicle which uses RK engines, because I happen to use the one thing that got broken on a per configuration basis. (Just my luck lmao) If the ESC one any vehicle gets broken in new RK, remove" Additional Features" from the ECU which installs on Default when adding ECUs in the current mod version. As for the state of the mod. I need to fix the following vehicles with my configurations Legran Sunburst Barstow Moonhawk ETK K-Series Cars I have fixed which were broken are (In my WIP version not the live version) I-Series Pessima 80's Pessima 90's (Ricer) ETK 800-Series Covet
[Daytime] So I'm sure everyone has just about Mc.HadIt with my gauge obsession but I finally got good glowmaps. I had to take super close images because even extra hi-res images taken at 8k... Glowmaps still look like dogwater in screenshots vs live in-game, especially when going through multiple layers of compression to get them here for forum posting. Well let me try this because maybe this method works better.
I know my mod is in a half-broken and kinda mediocre state atm and I am working very hard to bring the standards way up and fix what broke, however I'd just like to announce I've set up a Ko-Fi account for donations. Here -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --PROJEKT DRIVE-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- This is just so it's in place and I don't have to do it later, if you feel like donating to support my work it's there. Sorry for the slow progress since Christmas, I expect things to remain a bit slow until around mid February in a couple of weeks. But I'll try to get some chucks of progress done whenever possible, updates will remain on this page. I also need to figure out if BeamNG can change my mod from a "Configurations" mod to "Mods of Mods" so it's easily visible to people in-game. --- Post updated --- - Currently working on Bringing the Bolide Steering up the standard of the I-Series with the Wide/Narrow Ackermann, omg it's so much easier then the nonsense I came up with previously.. finally working on new content instead of polishing something, even if the I-Series desperately needed gauges because I didn't wanna build a Racecar with 7000Rpm redline.. I want a gauge I can read while driving around the Nordschleife without using the HUD/UI instead. I built an 8200RPM engine, I may eventually go back and re-attempt a mod I was working on to bring a 10 000RPM 2.5L Inline 4 that makes 368Hp to the I-Series and lighten the chassis.. but that'll come in time, when that happens I'm making the engine by hand and skipping RK's engines because it requires a lot more in-depth work then that will do for me, I already have some old assets for that, I just need to revive them. But for now I'm really happy with the I-Series Racecar I've crafted, it drives so damn good. Every time I get back in my Racecars I'm super pumped and disappointed. Pumped because it drives so good.. and disappointed because the road cars don't feel quite that much improvement but the steering racks offer a lot of potential.
This might seem dumb, and it’s not necessary at all, but I like having an organized/same aesthetic vehicle selector, so is there any way you could change the showroom color to white in the thumbnails, but leave the rating? Not necessary at all, just a suggestion.
I will consider it, I might be redesigning the logo anyway, so if that happens, every single configuration image has to be remade. I'll definitely consider that in my next update. --- Post updated --- Some Bolide configs - (Might need to touch up the strada configuration at some point) --- Post updated --- My next plan is to move forward to the 200BX and the 80's Pessima Yes even I'm sad that the Covet is on the back burner for now, also this update will not be covering the Muscle cars, they won't be touched until sometime after this update arrives. I'm going to be building bumpstops, racecars and steering racks for the following vehicles: 200BX 80's Pessima K-Series 800-Series 90's Pessima Sunburst + Legran (These will be last for sure, these racks purpose extreme issues, the sunburst lacks stability in the rack at high angles, and the Legran simply feels like absolute hot garbage to steer under power thanks to actual self steer mid-corner.. feels like negative caster it's so strange.) I already finished the I-Series and Bolide, which was a massive undertaking due to the I-Series Gauges. I will leave further gauges for later updates, I wanna change the Bolide gauges for completely custom models and texutres later on, I really don't appreciate driving the Gr.5 and not being able to see my tach for anything. I also wanna mod the 80's Pessima gauges and possibly 200Bx gauges, I can live with the 7.5k gauges in the ETK - K/800 Series. The 80's pessima gauge is literally useless.. also dunno why the devs never put a shift light in the I-Series, seems like an odd oversight. - Later I will make an update for the Grand Marshal Barstow Bluebuck Moonhawk But I might also find a way to do the Covet before getting to that update, quickly getting work on it done for it's own exclusive update, really wanna do the Miramar and Bastion eventually as well. I must apologize that my plans may seem chaotic and things kinda just get done, sometimes beyond original scope leading to long waits for updates, which is probably better for the Repo anyway as they're slow and if I released quick updates too much it'd just be a mess with them.
Hopefully planning to start the 200BX tomorrow.. I might skip a ton of slow work by just grinding out steering racks on a bunch of cars and coming back to do bumpstops and race cars after I build those and create better road going configurations. Might help speed up my slow production. I will also be taking a break on Jan 8th, 9th and 10th, spending time with a close friend.
I've got the main parts of the 200BX steering rack finished, it just needs tweaks and racing steering. Sadly I won't be working as much today as I'd planned because everything is completely going against my plans elsewhere.
I managed to get 80's pessima steering (front) done. I'm not focusing on Rear steering anytime soon, I don't really think it needs to be adjustable tbh.
Custom "King" skin for the 200BX (Fully Colorable in 3 groups, micro black strip, lower partition and general body) There are some issues with it but some of that comes down to the UV map on the 200BX it's self actually being mildly broken.. /: --- Post updated --- Just to show it's colourable --- Post updated --- In case you want to see what I mean by "broken UV maps" - Link
^ So for this one I've actually created my own Engine in Jbeam rather then using RK engines. I plan to slowly build some of the unique engine designs I've sketched up in RK by hand with more detailed curved and performance parts for ease of use and better overall stability moving forward. RK will likely be used a lot for a good while yet, but expect it to slowly be phased out with fewer configs relying upon it as time goes on, older ones being remade with more of these Jbeamed Engines. My 200BX engine platform does exactly what I need it to do for any configuration I could possibly desire out of the platform, already making me very happy after a night of playtesting. I just need to fix the engine being unable to start from a stall condition, shouldn't be too hard. The I-Series will be hell to build a library of engines for however... It will be done eventually. More specific engines like the Inline 5 or V10 engines will also be made with placeholder models, potentially being replaced with models one day, but that would be 100% back burner material. I'd really love custom sounds, models, Jbeam weight/shape and stuff for specific engines to really add another layer of realism to some of these configs. Also parts to lighten cars for racing variants, or for different models.. Ect. None of these things are promises as of yet. I still have a laundry list of work to do for the next couple months.
Made a custom Viscous rear differential for the 200BX platform. There will now be a King and King-Alt variant.. the Alt variant getting a custom LSD while the regular one gets the Viscous LSD
I now have 8 different brand new setups for the 200BX that are not in the currently released version of the mod. All with a unique feel.. only two of them need further development. The old configs will likely be deleted as they are nowhere near the quality of any of these configs, feeling quite lazy. To the point the 200BX has quickly become my new favorite car in BeamNG.
