Great mod! My only complaint, and it is a nitpicky one, is the grill. I'm a Jeep purist and somehow the 6 horizontal slot grill just doesn't look right to me. "If it ain't got 7 vertical slots it just ain't a Jeep." Ok, I just realized the MB version has 9 slots... I understand the whole BeamNG lore thing though so I know why it's like that. Never mind me. Just had to say something.
Sorry english isn`t my first language. I meant tyres like this in the image, old thread design, and, I could be wrong in this, with a bit higher sides. Otherwise, however, very nice mod.
It's been a while since I made them, but if I remember right the tire size is the same. Main reason for not making tires in that style was my lack of texturing knowledge early in the project, I'll see if I can do something with that. Yeah, that one is 100% on purpose so it looks like a jeep but not too much That's a leftover from earlier in developpment. Ez fix. I'll see if there's an easy way I can fix this, however it's due to having readjusted the nodes after making the model, meaning the ends of the leafs aren't matching their actual mounts. I'll do some tweaking. Although I want to make sure that the mirror is visible on a standard screen.
could you possibly add more things saying its a gavril. like the back or on the grill rather then just a skin.
It's pretty much how the real ones are set-up. The millitary versions had no manufacturer marks outside of the ID plates on the glove box and chassis, and the civilian version only had a stamping on the sides of the hood, base of the windshield, and tailgate, which from pics seem to have been sometimes painted. Since I don't have a tailgate I can't put one there, and I tried on the base of the windshield but didn't like that, so I kept it off. When I take the time to add a V8 it's probably going to be one of the other things I add.
My FOV is set to 60 by default, since that seems most realistic for a driving position if you want to use that for reference. If I look down while in the GPV, the camera is basically directly above the seatback.
As someone that owned a ‘42 Willys MB this thing is sick! Thank you so much for adding it! Overall very accurate. A couple questions, will you do a couple of the military features? Ie functional blackout lights, the axe and shovel on the drivers side, maybe the vertical grill (idk about copyright) data tags, etc. I wish I’d known sooner about this would’ve loved to help let me know if you need a hand later on!
I was looking into engine swapping one of these for fun, saw a couple people mentioned raised hoods, I think some came with them from the factory. I imagine that’s what this is.
@TrackpadUser There are duplicate u-joint yokes clipping into the tops of the front tires. I wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't driven around a bit with the body off. lol Fantastic mod on the whole though. Any plan to make a stretched chassis version, like a Willys MA?
Folded down windshield pops up and locks back in upright position quite easily on rough terrain, so working hold down latches would be nice addition. Anyway great work, as always.
than jeep looks cool, I'd drive the hell out of that, I can already hear that Inline 6 rumble. Love me some six cylinders,
