and the game currently doesn't allow you to make terrains bigger than Italy without losing a lot of quality, losing enough quality so it would be visible in the gas station screenshot (what it is not)...
Yeah, and that’s why @Nadeox1 needed to wait for 0.27 to remaster SSRB, because now he can make it a lot bigger!
Moving on with the drama.... Here i think the concept art meant to snow the scale of the map, and in that sense it really seems huge, maybe as big as Italy? To think of having a huge map like American roads but consisting of sand dunes rocks really tells mad max to me, lol Do we have a chance to see more of populated places though? Even if it's a desert, something like and industrial town that was used for oil extraction and now abandoned would be quite fitting
Well, BeamNG sure has the assets for an abandoned industrial town, seeing as half include rotten old warehouses.
seeing that, as of recent updates, the area of the maps have been increasing by a factor of 4, I could definitely see a city fitting in the desert while it still being big enough to get away from it
Those would kinda be fitting for the Map, but new assets would be cool as well, like abandoned oil refinery, abandoned ghost towns (very old, 1800s wild west anyone? Haha) or ghost mining towns under mountainous area would be fitting to see I don't know, did devs not tell back in the day that there's technical limitation to map scale without compromising the quality? Can't quote when, but that kind of breakthrough would definitely be great for future updates
I hope the new map does have an oil refinery because we don't have any areas like that so far, maybe it could come with an oil field not too far from it like the relationship between green palms and octane springs in San Andreas?
Yooo, area 51? Have we got anything like that? Or like a military site where they used to do nuclear tests during cold war era?
It has to do partly with Heightmaps (which is why WCUSA is condensed, since it has steep and precise hilly streets needing a more detailed heightmap in order for it to generate terrain properly, but also with Floating Point variables, which basically has to do with that objects are loaded where and how they are saved, as a vehicle moves farther from the centre of the map, the FPV can become unstable, leading to some bizarre physics. While heightmaps are harder to improve in this situation, making the FPV more stable can improve physics and dynamics for vehicles farther from the centre of the map (or so ive been told) --- Post updated --- We got a teaser, everyone got mad and certain community members who have no right to start more drama started more drama So yeah, typical teaser tuesday
Oh yeah, how could they make a map like this without that?! Maybe the abandoned town could be one of those areas they use to test the effects of a bomb, like nuke town from COD?
This also brings up that the 800 TTsports are not even C43/S4/M340i levels of performance. The I-series TTsports weren't rockets either, but they were still not this slow.
So I'll start off with that the art is really nice, the photoshopped utvs are a bit unnecessary, but you live and learn. The big issue is that everyone on twitter is going on about the vehicles in the picture and not of the map. And I can see that going down well when the update is released and they find out they're not real. To keep things on topic, I'm looking forward to the new map, I like the looks of it so far, just hopefully vehicles get dirty while driving offroad and the possible tire thermals ect.
Alright everyone lets play a fun game called: Leave the drama behind and speculate about the update They are probably overworked and stressed right now, trying to pump out this update in time for christmas with everything perfect so we don't end up with crappy half baked content. There isn't a list of things a teaser must or must not include. Why the hell should any of you care what is posted in a teaser anyways? It's not going to change what comes in the update, it's posted so you can try and see what they have been working on and right now they have been working on a big desert for offroading.
