Honestly, I Don't disagree with him, we already knew the new map was coming with the truck teaser in the dunes, and other map teasers they've done
Well it may only be me but it’s sounds to generalising and aggressive to me. I may have interpreted it wrong tho
BeamNG was known for its physics and now it feels like all of that is getting overshadowed by a crap ton of vehicles and teasers that make no sense. We were promised something big
And instead we got somethin we already knew that was in an earlier phase than what was already teased, really makes no sense in my head
It's only disappointing because it was hyped up. Left to ponder what the "something awesome" coming this tuesday for about a full week let a lot of people's minds run wild- that, combined with the increasing proximity to the holidays and the updating of both qa_unpacked (new?) and qa_latest made everyone think that the either the update was going to drop or that this teaser was going to be BIG. Instead, it confirmed that the new desert map is, in fact, a desert. Nothing against the art itself, it's beautiful and had it been shown before we actually saw the map ingame it would be brilliant- but after we've already seen it in game, concept art, especially one featuring a vehicle that isn't planned for the game feels quite lackluster, since it brings nothing new to the table.
Im fine with more vehicles Infact i wish the UTV in the teaser was coming Things like tire thermals or dirt/scratches are great but that just sounds like more reason my PC cant run this game anymore
i know the teaser wasn't about the car, but i noticed that the car's tyres are dirty but more dirty than the ones currently in-game...
doesnt the utv look like the otter thing? plus leeloo has said earlier that she likes to create chaos, and id say she succeeded
I mean to be fair we weren't explicitly promised something "Big", but something "Awesome"- super similar but different connotation. Also this doesn't mean the physics team is sitting on their hands passing the time away- development on that front is undoubtedly happening, though I wish we could see it.
Yeah, the addition of a vehicle not in game and not planned doesn't really feel appropriate for a teaser, especially when there is no disclaimer on the post itself. As for the intended teaser, it seems to be concept art of the location we saw in the trophy truck teaser. While I love to see the teams concept art and hope they continue to release such things, it's weird to see in this context. As for discussing the intended teaser... Trails in a valley with mountainous background and off road vehicles, I still say Johnson valley will be the main inspiration.
The caption"Get ready for an adventure" makes me think that the update is near, like get ready for the update.
I'm not really that disappointed with the vehicle only being a placeholder, as using placeholders is common in concept art (although it's at least a bit misleading when labelling the whole thing as a teaser) but I agree with your other points. Plus I don't think concept art makes for great teasers anyway, we all thought the map was coming soon but here they are showing some early concept art that, as stated earlier, most likely isn't going to represent the map in its final form. Just makes me think that the map is still quite a way away, in which case they should really focus on content that's already mostly finished and coming soon with their teasers. Just IMO, I don't mean to insult anyone or anyone's hard work obviously.
