Update Speculation thread

What is "unpacked?" I know that BeamNG's content is normally "packed" into zip files, and at some point there was talk of overhauling BeamNG's virtual file system... maybe having everything in zip files proved inconvenient, so they "unpacked" them into regular folders instead? That would be a fairly major technical change that would warrant a new branch for testing

I wouldn't hold onto the fact that there's an update coming today. There hasn't been a creator program update yet

Well, if as I suggested, they wised up and figured out how to stop giving away the release date with the creator program branch, then yes! I have been seeing very high activity from both devs and verified content creators on Discord consistent with the build-up to previous updates - not sure if that's reliable, but worth noting anyway.

Wait and see, that's all we can do right now.

Just had a thought, do you think this is the version on their new custom game engine based off of Torque3D that was discussed once?

 

Be optimistic! There's a European truck in this update, even my doomer ahh has to be excited about that
