This is true, but all of this has been shown in-game. Sure, it's happened before, but we will get at least one of these things in the update for sure. Jared's comments on the PreRunner when it was released also lead me to believe that this was long in the making.
Yeah, I’ve always thought the Elan was so unique. I’ve also always thought the frame would make a good race kart
Yeah, a backbone frame would even be good for a soapbox racer! This photo also shows the Chapman Strut rear suspension, so we have two unique engineering solutions in one package!
Yeah, tbh I just want to see a bit more diversity(?) or niece in the brands, but if one day they make a 2 seat 90s sports car I kinda don't want it to be like ibushu or anything because i feel they have enough cars and an addition such as a British brand like lotus, or idk an Australian brand or SA would be cool. Though I'm a bit bias since my favorite car is a s1 Elise (side note i was looking at possible names, since the lotus name is a derivative of the lotus flower and found this: )
START ADVERT “The ‘Alba Cockle’! Light two seater sports roadster! Easy to drive, easy on the budget! Get yours now at your local ‘Alba’ dealer!” “priceestimatedoesnotincludetaxespleasedonotsueuswerealmostbankruptthankyounogoodbye“ ”Buy yours now! The ‘Alba Cockle’, fun for all except those under 16!” END ADVERT
I mean yeah, the car can be distinctively British in its lightness but I was only talking about the engines. After all, it's a Lotus (and a general of all other small British manufacturers, with Ginetta being my favourite) tradition to outsource engines because it's quite an expensive task to build one from scratch. So the Ibishu engines fit the bill nicely, I think! Nice name this, "Alba Cockle"!
lotus has pretty much just begged daddy gm/rover for motors until the s2 elise when they went to toyota so an old Miramar engine would make a lot of sense, since beam cars aren't GTA style parodies of real cars, though the Miramar was made in the 70s i think? so maybe a bit old, but idk
You're getting the point! Yeah, the Miramar is a 60s vehicle (1963-68), so the 1.6 and 1.9 DOHC engines of it would be perfect for the FR car I just described! The picture I posted also shows the side-draft carburettors, a characteristic feature of the DOHC Miramar engines!
https://www.beamng.com/resources/pigeon-wigeon-ev-conversion-now-with-awd.20519/ Regenerative braking in BeamNG regains only arround 30 % of the energy compared to values arround 70 % for real life electric vehicles. Are you driving with a keyboard? Keyboard braking quickly reaches 100 % braking power which means that regenerative braking is cut in half as the vehicles ECU detects an emergency stop. https://www.beamng.com/threads/powertrain-feedback-collection.78669/page-5 You might enjoy some of those mods: https://www.beamng.com/resources/authors/trackpaduser.355924/
one problem I see there is that the front fascia design of the trophy truck doesn't look like a HD truck at all, all modern large american pickups have either double-stacked headlights, or a disproportionately tall grille like the ram. I'd expect this to be at most like an american 1500, and at this point, i'm leaning more towards something tacoma/ranger/colorado-ish. a unibody wierdo like a ridgeline/baja/maverick also doesn't seem that far fetched, especially if you presume it's a hirochi and buy into the class-1 SBR conspiracy theory. I think if they were to make any old style EV conversions, to just slap a modern drive unit in would be a waste of time, it'd be far better to go "remember how awful electric cars were for so long?" with something with 60km of range, 20hp, and 70% more weight just in batteries. I especially think that a USDM EV adaptation of the Wigeon, and a similar mail-van adaptation of the pigeon would fit in very well. (I'd also like them to get a live front axle and super 80s viscotronic technogasmic 15-valve turbo GTX-X versions, but alas, they've had their remasters, so getting any more content is unlikely in the forseeable future.)
If we do get a new modern truck thingy, I wonder if it's going to be released as a platform like the FCV so we can also get an SUV based on the same platform, kinda like how the Roamer and the D-Series are related, and even were both under the D-Series' vehicle on the menu, like how the Land Cruiser and the Tundra use the same platform.
I imagine this could be a good task for a modder if it doesn’t come with one normally. Would make for GREAT police versions too.
I think there is still plenty of space for modern pickup truck. 4x4 in d-series is obviously quite rudimentary. Yes, it has esc in newer variants but the system is worlds apart in terms of capabilities of what tograc can do in off-road mode. If tograc had proper off-road wheels, ground clearance, and suspension articulation, It would be a very serious machine. What I’m trying to say that with an advancement in technology new truck would be a very different animal to ancient d-series. Just imagine a modern 4wd, automatic transmission that can engine-brake on descent, hill descent control, different driving modes for different surfaces (crawl mode etc.), electric sway bars (or the possibility to disconnect them on the fly), air suspension with adjustable ride height, maybe even an independent suspension on all four corners. Not to mention all of the possible variants like all electric version (which you mentioned) or baja-oriented one (think raptor or TRX). Would be very cool!
