    I'm a bit confused what are we getting this update.

    Map with autobello imo are 95% in 0.27.

    But what is this buggy ? Picollina custom ? It feels too wide with a lot of differences than the actual picollina.

    And this trophy truck ? Are we getting a prototype trophy truck or is there a new entire modern pickup truck waiting for us? Maybe that will be next tuseday teaser.
    Although it feels insane having two new vehicles in one update or maybe even three with whole new map and uncountable new features that always come with it.

    Im guessing the smaller ATV might have been either an experiment into offroad vehicles or a training exercise for new team members in vehicle development that happened to get enough attention to the point where it was brought up to standards for the upcoming update

    0.27: new map, autobello truck, little 6x6 amphibian thing
    0.27.1: ETK k and 800 remastere, trophy truck, piccobuggy.

    I'd change 0.28 to 0.27.1, I'm inclined to think that most of what we've seen will come during 0.27, just maybe not at the initial release.

    The Autobello truck and the new map seem almost certain for the 0.27.
    The buggy is a custom version of the Piccolina. It was leaked when the 0.26 Update dropped and the teaser picture shows the same car, without any changes.
    I'd like to see a modern Pick-Up Truck with the new Trophy Truck.
    The Beaver-like vehicle also seems almost certain for the 0.27.

    Modern class 5 buggies share almost nothing with the VW bugs that the class originated with, at most a few sheet metal body panels. I think that is the Piccolina's front wheel spindle assemblies in the teaser but I haven't properly compared the teaser to what the Picco has in game.

    I have a feeling we might get both a modern Class 5 (this teaser) and version that uses the front and rear of this as subframes bolted to the Picco's unibody. I'm not sure what the best way to describe that is... Nostalgia class 5? I feel like that would more describe the existing Baja config. Either way it seems like the version left in 0.26 was closer to this than what we saw in the teaser, leading me to believe we are getting 2 versions plus whatever configs they can make from the platform. Almost certainly a tarmac track weapon will be included.

    Between here and the subreddit I've gotten a lot of less than happy disagreements with me on this... We all want to see a modern truck and there's a lot of reasons for the team to add one. But a trophy truck like this would only share the Bruckell engine with a street truck, and the shell very well could be a generic shell. While I still think a Bruckell modern full sized truck can be expected before full release, I really think a lot of people are getting their hopes up thinking that this in particular is it. Though I've also been saying for 2 years that I'm expecting the next vehicle to be a full sized current MY Bruckell pickup, so I guess I'm wrong no matter what the team does here...

    As others have mentioned above, it's an XTV like the IRL Argo Frontier. @YellowRusty did a spectacular write up of the IRL vehicle here.


    Adding to some new speculation... Since it seems we are getting this FPU company as a new all-terrain-vehicle manufacturer, I wonder if they will ever get a proper lineup or stay as a one off manufacturer. IRL Argo also makes traditional ATVs, side by sides, and they are involved with the Sherp (I'm not sure what the exact relation between Argo and Sherp is, their website just says "co-branded"). Overall this could be a catch-all company for some really weird stuff out of left field.

    Like 0.24, in 0.24.0 they add missions, map preview, ETK Center remaster, Pessima and H-Series remasters and then in 0.24.1 they add Civetta Bolide remaster and Bruckell Bastion.

    Was thinking about the production variant of the pickup truck and I remembered something.

    It seems that both a good percentage of this forum and the majority of people on the BeamNG subreddit are convinced that there will be a production version of the truck to go with the custom one we've seen.

    The thing is, from my experience, when such a large percentage of this community is convinced that something is going to happen that isn't actually true, one of the devs usually steps in and says "hey guys, sorry but to temper expectations, X isn't coming/will be different" and so on. They usually do this because they don't want to deal with a pissed off community that's frustrated because their expectations (rational or not) were not met.

    None of the devs have intervened in this production pickup stuff whatsoever, which makes me wonder...

    IF we get a production version of the trophy truck (which would make me wonder why they chose to show us the trophy truck variant first) it's definitely not gonna come in 0.27. I think we'll get the buggy and the van, not even sure about the map as we haven't really seen much of it which could just be the devs not wanting to spoil it... eh

    Wouldn't it be funny if we just get nothing?..... No, it wouldn't, nevermind.

    The devs said they had something big on Tuesday, probs release as 0.26 had a
    Teaser, and then a sale, and then another teaser, and finally release.
    We’ve had a teaser, a sale, and a teaser after, now comes the full release…

    I mean to be fair we've had like 9 teasers, so that doesn't mean that much.

    After counting, we've had 8 teasers and 6 other development posts since 0.26's release. 1 Teaser Tuesday, 3 consecutive weeks of Teaser Tuesdays and Thursdays, and finally another single Teaser Tuesday for the week. We can expect another teaser or something else big next Tuesday, so that could add to the teaser list.

    On very large maps, BeamNG has the issue that the position data of all the vehicle parts becomes somewhat inaccurate, leading to parts "shaking" without a source in driving dynamics.

    An improved way to handle Floating-point arithmetic could reduce or even remove that issue and thus would make larger maps much more viable. A further hint into this possible direction is that another dev mentioned that

    update is delayed until a future game update.

    Since this is a huge map (more than 100km long) it would certainly benefit significantly from improved Floating-point arithmetics.


    FPU also seems an odd name for a vehicle company.... we already have ETK so why not use one of the many existing ingame brands instead?
