Yep, Bruckell already has the powertrains to make a car like this. The 3.3/3.8 V6s or even an older version of the Bastion 3.5 V6 turned sideways and coupled with the 4-Speed Automatic and the LeGran/Wendover AWD system will do nicely.

Well, it also has portal axles but judging by the screenshot they are not quite the same.
Unimog as well as volvo c303/c304/c306 both have portal axles but also solid axles.

Steyr-puch Pinzgauer on the other hand also has portal axles but swing axles at the same time. That means on every axle there are two pivot points just next to differential. So unlike the solid axle wheels don’t remain parallel to one another at all times.

This should make for an interesting camber changes on bumps and theoretically a fairly wild handling. I’m really looking forward to it.

I don't know if the AATV "needs its time" - it certainly looks very complete already, and it can't be too hard to stick a top on it like the Beaver had. It might need some new water physics, but with a new map and several new off-road vehicles that will regularly spend their time in water, I could see new water physics being the main feature in 0.27.

As for the Autobello van, well...

I mean, if we're getting two similar off-road vehicles in one update, awesome. I just thought that, since the mystery buggy and trophy truck would likely use a lot of the same components, they would be two variants of the same vehicle.

Also, holy shit, new Autobello and new van and it's a cutesy little box with 6x6 variants, portal axles, and all kinds of other things . Quite odd that there's been a lot of emphasis on Italian vehicles lately (including the new van, we'll be up to four (five if you count the Piccobuggy, with two/three being released back-to-back), but I'm fine with it. (Map's looking swell, as well.)

Yeezus, this could be possibly the biggest update yet.

I must hand it to the devs, I don't do that nearly enough but clearly trucks and other offroad vehicles are their specialty. Good to see them adding variety in the truck department, much needed and much appreciated!

I wonder what engines it will have, if I had to guess I would say it will feature a choice of a 2.0-liter air-cooled petrol boxer or some kind of inline-four atmospheric diesel. Either one should be plenty of motivation for its intended purpose

On another note, the good news about the Pizzagauer being Italian is that virtually any European rebadge is historically plausible. It can be French, German, British, even Yugoslavian and the design is generic enough that it will work

That is interesting for sure. The swing axles will certainly help in the handling department. But the absence of live axles signals to me that it is more off-road focused instead of a multi-purpose vehicle (Agriculture, lumber, roadworks etc).
I do hope that get a version with a 2-seater cab and cargo-bed.

As for the engines, it's almost certain that the F4 engines of the Piccolina won't be enough. The 1.5 may be good but only for the lighter duty versions (meaning short wheelbase and no 6x6). If it's gonna have Flat engines, they must be at least 1.5l large and go up from this size. Modders will certainly offer the Hirochi 2.0/2.5 F4s, although a restored variant with these engines included in the official lineup of the car (hence why they can be in the common folder) wouldn't be half bad.
Diesels are also certain, especially for the heavier duty variants. I'm really curious about them and especially about any naturally aspirated version which may appear - and, as we all know, NA diesels are terribly underpowered.

Does anybody have any ideas about what engines they will use in the new autobello van, will they use the piccolina engines or will there be a new set of engines? Maybe the new 3-cylinder sounds could be used, or a new 3 or 4-cylinder diesel.

I swear, the devs are cranking out more content solely to make you turn that post into a novel, with how long it's getting. Also, I've been noticing that way more of that has become green instead of orange, especially the vehicle content. If even half of that stuff made it into 0.27, it'd be enormous - they're just going straight overkill. Like VMLinuz said, trucks and off-roaders just seem to be where the devs excel at nowadays, and good for them.

(inb4 we get another 5 mystery vehicles straight outta nowhere and a second new map) /s
