I don't think it's an addition to an existing map either: it doesn't match WCUSA (wrong mountains, not coastal), Utah, or Derby Arenas (mountains/terrain don't match), and an addition to Small Island doesn't make sense as it's supposed to be a remote island without much infrastructure. I'm sure we already know it's another US map, but the signs confirm it (afaik no other English country uses text-only no parking signs):
United we stand, baby! Merica. jokes aside i dont mind another US map it really fits my liking so far.
this is absolutely not the piccobuggy, note the lack of sticking up front shock towers and the curvy door bar, however, it doesn't look like it's got a front engine, and it does appear to have a rear-side mounted radiator. I'm thinking this is a Baja SBR, if not, my second guess is an extreme-E tograc. in general it seems like all of these offroad things can share a lot of assets, i'd guess this thing's using piccobuggy rear suspension, prerunner or brophy bruck IFS, and all the miscellaneous bits as we've already seen in the prerunner. for this, i'd say the only thing they've had to make from scratch is the bare chassis. and as for the map, it seems pretty certain at this point that it's set somewhere in the southern USA, for all those who complain, remember that to make this map, they've been able to reuse all the basic assets from WCUSA/SIUSA since they're so similar in geology and flora, meaning this would have been a fair bit quicker to make. remember back when LJFhutch made a bunch of microblogs about doing the environment art for italy, and it took something like 2 years?
Im thinking the one teased here is a whole new Dakar level car because of the scoop directly behind the drivers. Maybe something like Mini JCW Buggy or the Peugeot buggies
Well, maybe this new map has been produced since 2020? And by the way, someone knows that highway map that appears in Bruckell Bastion trailer? That's don't like related to this new map, is more like SSRB, but I don't think that they used a mod for a official car trailer. (at least the developers)
The highway map you mean is part of WCUSA (it was the bridge going to the small island with the tunnel on it I think)
Generally italy is the map I see most on YT, my most played map is actually the Automation racetrack Again I play Automation the most...its just what I see on YT
Now wait a minute…are these new tires on the buggy thing? There are several different offroad tires in the game but this one looks different. They are definitely not all-terrain tires (like the 31' ones on the H15 Vandal), the threads are way too blocky. The mud-terrain (the tires on the Baja Piccolina) and Hopper crawler tires also don't look like it, their thread block patterns are different from the ones in the picture. The 38' Screamers (found on the D15 Prerunners) are also very different in terms of appearance. The big crawler tires (the ones on the D35 Pig) are the closest tires I could find when it comes to thread pattern, but the thread blocks are too deep compared to the ones on this buggy, not to mention that the lettering is black, not white. Sooo…new tires?
Found new parts for the SBR4 in the engine dae, looks like radiators. mesh name is "boxer_lowpoly.002"
Exhibit A as to my theory of the mystery buggy being an SBR: I've matched the angle of an SBR body to make it fit, notice the position of the door bars, and the shape of the roof rails. (the second image is a GIF, click on it to see the comparison)
No, they're the usual Crawler tires, probably in their largest size, which is the 42in one. There was an addition with the 0.26 though: the GripAll Screamer J52 tire got a 40in choice to go along with the original 38in one introduced in the 0.21 Update.
I just discovered something: the SBR4s' Flat engines have their twin turbos on the back side, on either side of the rear bumper support (we can see the red air filter of each turbo). The picture you posted shows us the intercoolers being on the front. Just behind the two doors of the SBR4, there's a pair of boomerang-shaped fake side air inlets. Does this mean these fake side inlets are gonna be functional? Because that's what the placement of the intercoolers implies.
he speaks for many of us who think the same, i whouldn't have said it that way though We still are not sure if the teaser is really a new map anyway
