Mentioning the VW Caddy here is just the LBE equivalent of calling the Civetta Mondello the Grotti Turismo from GTA IV

 

why the attitude?

also no I wasn't aware, but mostly because that's a Tourneo Connect.
As far as I know, the Tourneo Connect is not available in the US.

Also, the main difference appears to be the grill which is much bigger on the Ford version. The Scout has the Caddy grill.

 

The Tourneo Connect and Transit Connect are both built on the MQB evo platform from the VW group
